Nian Xi didn’t know what to say.

She considered herself a thick-skinned person but didn’t expect that he was thick-skinned too.

Under his innocent gaze, Nian Xi coughed slightly, said, “Didn’t I agree to let you clean my apartment?”

“I mean, I want to clean your apartment forever,” Jiang Yuning curved his lips corners downward with a grievance.

“Aren’t you going too far tonight?” Nian Xi said seriously, “You haven’t cleaned my apartment even once, but you already asked to clean it forever. How am I supposed to know that you’ll do exactly what you said? Who knows if you’ll give up on me because my apartment is too messy?”

“I won’t,” Jiang Yuming shook his head determinedly, “Persistence is the most important quality of scientists.”

“I don’t believe words. Actions are more important,” Nian Xi folded her arms and said, “Try to clean my apartment once when you recovered. Besides, if you want to be with me, you can’t be picky about food anymore. You’re weak because you only eat vegetables. You have to eat a lot of meat and fishes together with me.”

Jiang Yuning furrowed his brows, opened his mouth.

“Do you have a problem with that?” Nian Xi said to him.

Under her gaze, Jiang Yuning weakly shook his head.

Nian Xi looked at the poor boy. She was a policewoman. Would she ever let go of such a talented scientist who was able to develop high-tech weapons?

She would not. She had to keep him by her side, to make her all kinds of high-tech safety tools.

With those tools, she would be able to do her job so easily. She would be able to put her captain down within just a second. She might even become a director someday.

That would, certainly, take a long time, though. She shouldn’t be with him for that purpose. A relations.h.i.+p could not be forced. They had to be into each other to be together.

The transfusion wasn’t finished until midnight. While leaving the hospital, Jiang Yuning glanced at Nian Xi’s hoody, said, why didn’t you buy yourself a coat too? It’s cold. You can wear mine.”

“I forgot,” Nian Xi shook her head and said, “No. You haven’t healed yet. Just put it on. Wait here. I’ll go and get the car.”
