Chapter 1175: Just Tell Me That I’m Pretty
Nian Xi paused briefly with surprise, then felt that what he said might really happen.
Last time, they talked about going for dinner and a movie together. That silly guy might look at his phone all day without the courage to actually message her.
“But before you go…” Fang Qi looked at her from head to toe discontentedly and said, “Try to make yourself look better. You look really scruffy.”
“What’s so wrong about my look? Scruffiness can be a different kind of beauty,” Nian Xi snorted. Then she packed up her things and went downstairs.
In the car, she looked at herself in the mirror. She had been working many extra hours lately and did look a little sallow.
She hurriedly picked up her foundation, refined her makeup, and put on some lipstick.
On her way, she texted Jiang Yuning to let him know that she would be at school soon.
‘I’m going to the school gate right now’—He replied right away.
Nian Xi saw him standing before the gate in a white trench coat like a statue when she arrived. Under his white coat were a black s.h.i.+rt and a dark blue tie. That normal outfit looked gorgeous on him. His snow-white, flawless skin looked like colored gla.s.s, especially pleasing to the eye.
He had no idea how appealing he looked and how many girls were standing around him. He seemed to be completely absent-minded as if nothing in surroundings had anything to do with him.
Nian Xi drove straight toward him. Jiang Yuning seemed to recognize her car. His eyes instantly lit up as he walked toward the car.
“Get in.” Nian Xi waved at him. She liked it when he could see n.o.body but her.
Jiang Yuning sat in the front seat. Nian Xi showed her police badge, then the guard let her in. “Have you been here every day lately?” she asked him.
“I’m working on a project with Professor Han.” Jiang Yuning scratched the back of his head and responded shyly, “Also, I’m waiting for you.”
His voice grew lower and lower. However, the music wasn’t on, so Nian Xi heard him clearly.
