Near her neighborhood, a thirty-year-old man in a jacket walked to her and asked in non-fluent Chinese, “Hi, can you please tell me how far Xia City University is from here? Which way to go?”

The man didn’t look Chinese. Yan Su guessed that he was from j.a.pan or Korea. Many foreigners lived near the college town. Most of them were there to study or work.

“Right there. Go this way…” Yan Su pointed backward. A man suddenly showed up behind her and breathed some smoke into her face.

Her head instantly spun.

d.a.m.n… that one word popped into her mind before she fell into unconsciousness.

Another man quickly put her into a black car nearby, then drove away.

Yan Su woke up to find herself lying on a large bed.

Her mind was still unclear, and her body was powerless. She couldn’t even sit up. Also, she felt that her limbs were all tied up.

She was muddleheaded for a short while before she suddenly recalled that someone made her unconscious on her way home.

She had read about such things from the news, but never thought that it would happen to her.

What did these people want? Did they kidnap her for money? Or, were they going to sell her?

She shuddered to think of it.

“You’re awake.” A woman’s voice was heard from the end of the bed. Her Chinese was not fluent.
