She angrily walked off.

Nian Junting was about to go to a meeting, so he didn’t run after her.

Lu Kang couldn’t help but say, “Mr. Nian, I think it’s your fault Miss Xu is pregnant.”

“Hmm, I was just joking.” Nian Junting seemed frustrated. “I didn’t expect Luosang not to appreciate my humor.”

Lu Kang shuddered as he thought, He was telling a joke? It’s creepy and weird that he would do that. Doesn’t he know that he had an extremely cold disposition in the past?

He was suddenly sympathetic toward Luosang.

The managers from the investing department had all arrived except for Xiao Si. The meeting was delayed since not everyone was present, so everyone was playing with their phones.

“Hey look, Jiang Yuning was detained in Paris and denied bail,” Manager Zhong said. “The tables have turned. Yilang Oda has publicly apologized, and he’s free to go home now.”

Nian Junting looked up at Manager Chen and smiled. “Our government must have pressured them. So many of our scientists would be disheartened to know that an outstanding physicist was left in the lurch.”

“It’s too bad we couldn’t persecute Yilang Oda,” Manager Zhong angrily said. “We should sue him in return.”

“They must have reached an agreement of some sort,” Nian Junting said. “Let me look into that.”
