“Do you want to go up and say h.e.l.lo?” Jiaojiao asked.

Yan Su shook her head. “What for? Will he be able to help me gain popularity or earn more money? Star Music has given me sufficient resources to go further.”

Jiaojiao gave her a thumbs up. “Su, you are so cool.”

Yan Su grimaced. She just didn’t want to face s.h.i.+ Xiang.

After rehearsing for about 30 minutes, s.h.i.+ Xiang headed out for dinner with the main emcee of the show. The other artists were all having the deluxe bento boxes prepared for them by the broadcasting company.

Yan Su was sitting at the same table as Ji Nuanyi.

“Miss Ji, why didn’t you go out and have lunch with them?” Yan Su asked.

“I want to read the script,” Ji Nuanyi retrieved a thick ma.n.u.script from her bag. “Besides, I don’t enjoy superficial small talk over meals as much as they do.”

Yan Su really admired her. It was no wonder people called Ji Nuanyi a workaholic. She really lived up to her reputation.

At 8 p.m., the grand ceremony began. It was chaos backstage.

Ji Nuanyi was fourth in the lineup. After she sang her song, she promptly left the event.

Yan Su was resting in a corner when she heard a few singers ramble on beside her.

“Why isn’t s.h.i.+ Xiang here yet?” Zhao Tianlan asked.

“He’s probably here,” said another singer, Wei Man. “He might just be chatting with corporate upstairs.”
