Uncle Han was a little worried. “Mr. Jiang, are you…” he asked.

Jiang Yuning swallowed the m.u.f.fin with effort, then burped and wrote, ‘I want to be strong.’

Uncle Han was delighted. “You really should. You are too skinny.”

Nian Xi’s mouth corners twitched slightly. “He’s trying very hard to get a girlfriend,” she said to herself.

After breakfast, they headed toward the auditorium in the exhibition center, where the conference would take place.

On their way, Jiang Yuning was reading his speech draft, which was in English.

Nian Xi glanced at the draft then felt dizzy.

About ten minutes later, she found that Jiang Yuning was in the exact same posture. She admired him for how focused he was.

Another ten minutes later, she felt slightly strange. She bent over to look at his face and found that he had fallen asleep.

He was about to give a speech in front of physicists from all around the world, yet he fell asleep.

Nian Xi poked him on the shoulder.

He swayed slightly, slowly leaning on her shoulder. He even moved his hip to make himself more comfortable.

Nian Xi was speechless.

She wanted to wake him up, but Uncle Han stopped her and whispered, “Don’t. Mr. Jiang didn’t get much sleep last night. He was nervous. He only slept for about an hour this morning.”

Nian Xi was surprised. “No wonder he has big dark circles under his eyes. But he doesn’t seem nervous.”

“Mr. Jiang looks silly all the time. How can you possibly tell if he’s nervous or not?” Uncle Han smiled. “He told me about it this morning. Just let him get some sleep. You need to understand that he is carrying many responsibilities.”

“All right…”

Nian Xi agreed but didn’t feel right.

Am I supposed to let him sleep on my shoulder like this? she thought.
