An Ning walked shoulder to shoulder with An Lan but her mind was somewhere else. She was thinking about Mo Liuxi.

What was love at first sight? Was this it? Her heart was still pounding.

“Look where you’re going. There’s a tree ahead.” An Lan pulled her aside.

“Sister, you oversaw Miss Xu’s father’s case, right?” An Ning grabbed her sister’s sleeve; she looked focused now.

An Lan looked at her. She knew what her sister was thinking about. “Although I took on the case, we moved along quickly because Yi Jingxi turned himself in.”

“That’s not how the news reported it. They said you did a splendid job…”

“At the beginning I did. If Yi Jingxi really hired Cao Guanglun, that unscrupulous fella, I might not have won the case.”

An Ning pouted saying, “Sister, do you believe in love at first sight? I didn’t before, but I just experienced it for myself. When I b.u.mped into that senior just now, my mind was in a fog. I like him and I want to be with him.”

An Lan burst into laughter. “When you fall in love at first sight, you’re falling in love with someone’s appearance. An Ning, you don’t know what true love is yet. You only like him because of his looks. You don’t even know what he’s like as a person.”

“I like him anyway. Sister, you know I don’t give my heart away easily.” An Ning tugged on her sleeves. “Can you interact with Miss Xu more, to create more chances for me?”

“I think you have more chances to talk to Mo Liuxi than I do. You’re going to be in the same school.” An Lan raised her hands. “I’ve talked to Mo Liuxi before and I don’t think you two are compatible. You are too spoiled and Mo Liuxi is too cold. He needs someone with a gentle disposition.”

An Ning scoffed. “You can only tell if a pair is compatible after they get together. You weren’t willing to work towards your love, and that’s how he was stolen away by Miss Xu.”

An Lan’s eyes widened. “You’re too young and you don’t understand.”

“It’s ok if you don’t want to help me. I will handle it by myself,” An Ning said pouting.

Back in the apartment, Yan Su removed her face mask and laughed. “Your brother is quite the honey for the flies. School hasn’t even started yet. I think that junior has fallen for your brother.”

Luosang sighed. “I can tell. You can’t force feelings and love after all. What about you? You didn’t say a word to Liuxi.”

“Your brother has quite a sharp tongue. I can handle it.” Yan Su laughed lightly.

“Too bad. Wait until you spend a day with Nian Junting. You won’t last a day.”

“Great. We’re not family, so I don’t have to spend time with him, ever.” Yan Su laughed and went back to her room.

After Luosang came out from her shower, she realized that Nian Junting had video called her several times.

She called him back quickly, and his handsome face appeared on her screen. The application had a filter on the picture, so he looked even more das.h.i.+ng than usual.

Luosang couldn’t help but admire the image. He was handsome all around, even though his face was magnified on the screen.

“You just showered?” Nian Junting asked as he looked at her pink cheeks flushed from the hot water. He was turned on. “Luo, I want to see you naked.”

“Come on. I can strip for you too.” Nian Junting quickly removed his t-s.h.i.+rt, revealing his strong upper torso.

Luosang blushed. “You look great, but I’m going to bed.”

“Wait. I miss you.” Nian Junting was looking at her seductively. “I’m not used to sleeping without you. It’s become a habit now.”

Luosang’s heart was pounding excitedly. She felt bad. He missed her so much while she was wholeheartedly enjoying her freedom. “I’m coming back in the afternoon the day after tomorrow. Just stay focused at work.” She blew him a kiss then hung up with embarra.s.sment.
