“Yeah,” Nian Junting replied languidly, “You have all my other cards and money. I knew that your mother wouldn’t take it. Even if she did, she’d immediately give it to you.”

Luosang honestly didn’t know what to say. She thought that he had put hundreds of millions on that card but it turned out that she was overthinking.

“Give it back to me.” Nian Junting took the card back from her hand.

“That’s my bride price,” Luosang found it both funny and annoying.

“We share everything now.” Nian Junting made himself sound very reasonable.

Luosang didn’t know how to respond.

Next morning, before going to work, Nian Junting turned and said to Luosang, “don’t go out these days.”

“My mom will come later to see the house nearby. I want to go with her,” Luosang responded with a sleepy voice. “We’ll be right in the neighborhood. We’ll be fine.”

“Alright, just don’t leave the neighborhood.” Nian Junting thought for a moment and then said, “I heard your mother mention Yi Jingxi yesterday. He went missing, but I feel that he might come to find you.”

Luosang stayed silent at first. A short while later, she said, “Why? There’s nothing left to say between us.”

At10am, Mo Jin arrived. She and Luosang walked to the house that Nian Junting talked about together. That house was only 100 meters away from Nian Junting’s. It was a three-story villa, brand-new and finished in traditional Chinese style. The plants in the garden were thriving.

The realtor said, “This house was just finished a year ago. The owner needs to move out of the country. That’s why he put the house on sale at a low price. You live in the neighborhood too so I believe I don’t need to mention how good the environment and the management are. To be honest, this place can’t be considered as the best villa in Xia City, but it is the most comfortable one.”

“Mom, what do you think?” Luosang asked.

“Anywhere near you is good,” Mo Jin smiled.

Luosang and her mother shared the same idea, so they soon reached an agreement.

They didn’t put in an offer immediately, because Nian Junting told Luosang to let him talk to the realtor about the price. After all, she and her mother did not really know about the house prices in the neighborhood, so some people might take advantage of them. Therefore, after deciding to buy the house, they left the realtor.

They returned to the villa and had lunch. Sister Lan received a phone call after lunch. Then she started to say something to Luosang a few times, but didn’t finish.

At first, Luosang didn’t notice it. But later, she saw her whisper to Steward Wu a few times. “Sister Lan, what’s wrong?”

Sister Lan hesitated for a while then said, “the security people said that a young man is at the front entrance asking to see you. Earlier, Young Master warned the security people, so they have been rigorously guarding the entrance. They didn’t allow him in and told him to leave. He refused to leave and stood outside in the sun. Steward Wu just went out and took a look at the guy, and then found a picture of Yi Jingxi online and compared it to him. We think it’s him out there.”

Luosang frowned. Nian Junting had guessed right.

“Have you told Junting about it?”

“Yes. Young Master told you to ignore him. Just let him stand there,” said Steward Wu.

Luosang glanced at the sunlight out there. It was in the middle of the day and the sun was scorching the earth. Standing in the sun for a long time might really give someone heat exhaustion.

“I think you can let him come in. It’ll be okay for you to see him,” said Mo Jin. “There are bodyguards in the villa so you have nothing to be afraid of. And I think he might be here to end things with you this time if he still has some conscience.”

Luosang sneered, “Does he have any conscience? Earlier in court, I presented the evidence. Anyone who has any sense of shame would have admitted the crime. Mom, some people who have climbed to high places tend to cling onto the money and power in their hands forever, and by any means. He did what he did not only for revenge, but also to keep the wealth and power that he had.”

Mo Jin took a sip of the iced coffee and said, “I told you to see him, not because I pity him, I don’t pity him at all. Honestly, his life has been ruined by Chu Lei. Chu Lei lied to him.
