“It’s okay. You know I have a poor appet.i.te lately.” Luosang pushed the soup toward Nian Xi.
“No. You’re eating for two,” said Nian Junting.
“What?” Nian Xi rubbed her ears. “What did you just say? Is Sangsang…” Luosang’s face turned red, while Nian Junting proudly raised his eyebrows.
Nian Xi sprung to her feet and covered her mouth. “Oh my G.o.d! You guys are so efficient! Am I going to be an auntie?”
Luosang smiled and said, “Six weeks.”
Nian Xi was stunned for a moment, then said excitedly, “Please give me a pretty and adorable little niece! I won’t be able to stand a boy like my brother.”
Luosang stayed silent. She wouldn’t be able to stand a boy like that either. Unusually, Nian Junting didn’t argue with her. “It’s surely going to be a princess,” he said.
“Yeah, yeah, I’m going to buy so many gifts for my little niece. My mother gave me too much money. I just can’t spend it all.” While speaking, Nian Xi began eating quickly. “I need to finish dinner soon and then go shop for clothes for my niece.”
“Your brother has already bought a lot of clothes for the baby.” Luosang was a little speechless.
“Yeah, but he has poor taste…” Nian Xi put a piece of pork rib into her mouth, then spat it right out and said, “Brother, the pork rib is undercooked. How did you cook it? Can my sister-in-law eat that?”
Nian Junting glanced at the pork rib, then picked up a piece of it and tasted it for himself. As Nian Xi had said, it was undercooked. “How did that happen? I guess this pork rib is especially hard to cook. Before, my pork rib was always well cooked.”
“Yeah? Are you sure?” Nian Xi doubted that.
“Of course.” Nian Junting nodded.
Luosang quietly sipped the chicken soup. His pork rib was never well-cooked. That day, Nian Xi had come to visit and she had needed to keep her company. Otherwise, she would never have let Nian Junting cook.
