“Have you decided to let him come back?” Luosang wanted to laugh but also felt sorry as she recalled Xiao Si’s WeChat Moments. He complained about how cold and lonely it was in the Northwest in every post.

“Um, I called him earlier. He was happy. He said that he’ll pack his things and come back from Dun-Huang tonight,” Nian Junting said. “I think he’ll arrive tomorrow morning.”

Luosang really wanted to laugh. “How miserable is his life in the Northwest? Is he so eager to come back?”

Nian Junting sneered. “That’s probably the worst place he’s ever been in his life. He never spent a day in the army, and he’s a spoiled child. He’s lazy. He was born with a silver spoon in his mouth, and he has never faced any difficulties.”

Luosang did feel that Xiao Si really had a lot of free time as a vice CEO. “But he has lots of friends. People like him are needed everywhere. You both complement one another.”

“Who wants to compliment him? I’m much more easy-going and popular than him.” Nian Junting gave a cold smile.

Luosang didn’t respond. She would not believe that.

She finished eating, then closed her eyes and rested for a while. Abruptly, she felt that the car had stopped. She opened her eyes and found herself under a tree. It was midnight. Almost no cars came to this area, and there was no one around. Her heart missed a beat. Then, she turned to look at the man who was staring at her in a meaningful way, hands resting on the steering wheel.

“Are we really going back like this?” Nian Junting looked at her with eyes glowing brightly.

“Or… what?” Luosang wished that things weren’t like what she thought.

“We can do something else. I’ll finish quickly.” Nian Junting’s slender fingers slowly crawled toward her over the steering wheel and held Luosang’s hand. “You see, I’m thirty, while you’re only twenty-three. You little girls are so energetic. You people often stay up all night in internet cafes or bars, but the next day, you’re still full of vigor.”

“You’re not thinking about making love in the car, are you?” Luosang couldn’t believe how bold Nian Junting was.
