Jiang Yuning followed her to the guest room on the ground floor. It was clean and neat. Nian Xi said, “There isn’t a toilet in this room. It’s beneath the stairs outside. Do you need to shower? If so, I’ll go get some clothes from my brother.”

Jiang Yuning shook his head. Nian Xi nodded in response. “I’m going to bed then. I’ll be next door. Don’t wander around by yourself and don’t go to the second floor.”

Jiang Yuning nodded. Nian Xi walked towards the door and sighed before adding, “If you see my brother and my sister-in-law tomorrow, you should look them in the eye if they speak to you. Acknowledge them by nodding or shaking your head. It would be quite rude to ignore them as you did my brother just now.”

Jiang Yuning looked lost. He jotted down on his notepad, “Did your brother speak to me just now?”
