“I didn’t say anything like that. You all brought it up by yourselves.”

Nian Junting looked impatient. “Auntie, don’t blame me for my speculations, Luo Sang is just too pretty, too clever, and too kind-hearted. She’s surrounded by people who envy her, and Chuen could be just one of them, acting out of her jealousy.”

Luo Sang’s face turned red with embarra.s.sment.

Nian Junting was normally only full of praise for himself, but she did not think herself deserving of these compliments as well.

Glancing furtively at Ye Chuen, Luo Sang could see tears of indignance welling up in her eyes.

Kang Ying’s face looked grim. “Junting, even if you’re trying to defend your girlfriend, there’s no need to speak so badly about your sister. Although she’s not Nian Xi, we’re still family.”

“Have I spoken badly? It’s just the truth.”

Nian Junting glanced at Ye Chuen nonchalantly. “I’m not saying that she’s ugly, or that she has poor grades, it’s just that… compared to Luo Sang, she’s still lacking in many ways.”

Luo Sang covered her face with her hands. She felt that Nian Junting was only inciting more resentment against her with every word he said.

“Alright, Auntie Kang, Chuen, don’t listen to his nonsense. He’s only in a bad mood because I got hurt. I’m more than grateful for you all coming to the hospital to visit me. There’s no need for any compensation, Junting will be pressing charges against the company which set up the platform.”

“Yeah, we’re going to make sure they’ll go bankrupt,” Nian Junting added coldly.

Ye Chuen forced a laugh, “There’s no need… to be so harsh, right?”

“Harsh?” Nian Junting uttered sarcastically, “Luo Sang fell into the deepest part of the pool and even got pushed down by the heavy planks which fell onto her. If not for timely rescue, she would have drowned right there and then. So, if you think it’s not harsh enough, why don’t I throw you into the pool for a taste?”
