Chapter 3: In the Absence of Relations.h.i.+p, An Unrelated Perfect Love Story was Developed

The wizard — Rufus' words revolved eloquently in the hall.

Immediately after that, people began to buzz as they started to understand the meaning of his words.

Rufus is actually the Prince of Elusion!

If that was true, then it wasn’t a problem... instead it was wonderful truth.

I was rejoiced at the truth about her love and I looked to Louise.

But I was surprised.

No, it was not only me who was surprised. Even the Princess had opened her eyes and looked at Rufus who was holding her hand with astonished eyes.

Well, maybe the princess did not know until now?

However, while she was nodding in approval, there were still insecurities showed on her face.

I was sure that the princess thought he was just a wizard without any status, so she must has been worried of how the king would react to their marriage.

With the exception of the hero who had receive the G.o.d’s oracle, the king could not possibly married off her daughter to a mere wizard, right?

”Prince of Elusion, you said?”

The king could not believe what he just heard as his face was showing ‘as if it was possible’ expression then gazed at the princess’ hand which had been hold by Rufus.

Elusion was located on the same continent as this country but it was much bigger and had greater power, in comparison.

Since our countries were located next to each other and diplomatic relations between neighbor countries seemed not very known, the relations between our countries was close to non-existent.

By the way, it seems that there was a rumor from somewhere that he was from the same place as Greed-sama.

“Why did the Elusion’s prince joined the hero’s party as a wizard?”

That question came from the king’s servant’s mouth, if you were wondering.

”Speaking of which, I had heard that the second prince of Elusion is named Prince Rufus and very skilled in magic.”

The one who suddenly spoke was the Minister of Foreign Affairs.

He was a diplomat for many years, a person who was also familiar with foreign affairs.

If thing was as he said, so the wizard in front of him could be Elusion's second prince, Prince Rufus.

”I'll explain,”

That voice was belonged to Rufus.

”I am the hero— Greed’s childhood friend and we met because he lived in a village near the place where Elusion's summer residence is located. Ever since the demons emerged and I found out that the G.o.d’s oracle came down and said Greed was a hero, I thought that I would help him by joining his party. Fortunately, I knew magic so I was able to join him as a wizard.”

Rufus said that, then he turned to Louise and looked at his love.

”I am sorry to keep a secret about being a prince, Princess. However as I was in hero’s party, I was one of them and my role was a wizard, not a prince. Therefore, it was impossible to let you know about my real ident.i.ty. I am sorry. I am selfis because, rather than a prince of a major power, I want to love you as Rufus. Not as a prince but only as a man.”

”Rufus-sama.........”

Princess Louse was crying as two pearl-like teardrops fell from her big eyes to her cheek.

But, I knew.

That was not sad tears.

As the evidence, was there not a smile on the princess’ face?

”The person I love is Rufus, whether or not he’s a prince or just a wizard, it's just a trivial thing, because I love you as a man.”

”Princess ...!”

Rufus murmured as he was overcame with emotion and pulled the princess into a tight embrace.

I could see that on the Rufus’ back, princess’ hands were trembling as she was timidly grasping his robe and everyone was looking at them, as they were reflected on their eyes.

I watched all of this over the hero’s shoulder while the hero was still holding my hands.
