Chapter 1139: Improvement (1/2)
After laughing at Agnis's comment, they then turned to Anna, who had been waiting for her turn this whole time. Seeing Jeanne succeed alone already lifted a huge burden on her shoulder.
Anna nodded at Alex with a serious expression as she asked, ”Please. I'm ready.”
”Xingzhi.” Alex then gave a signal to Lin Xingzhi to do the same thing to Anna.

[Anna (Dark)

Just like Jeanne, Anna's body emitted black energy as it spread around without her consent. This was the Darkness Law or so they believed since they couldn't understand what kind of Law Anna actually chose.
The dark energy enveloped her skin before spreading to all her body as if the darkness itself swallowed her.
Anna also didn't let out a single voice inside the dark energy, so she must have her hand full with the Law.
After Alex confirmed that she was alright, the rest felt relieved and watched attentively to see any difference. Of course, they had prepared to make another barrier and ready their weapon for an incoming attack, but that was all.
They simply watched how Anna got ”tortured” inside her dark cocoon as the influx of Dark Law stormed in.
Alex gulped down as he became even more impatient in Anna's turn. But considering Anna was his wife, it was normal and the others understood it as well.
Suddenly, the dark energy burst out as Anna's just changed her appearance inside, befitting her own position right now.
Her long black hair was tied to a ponytail with a purple butterfly pin. There was also another one on the front, clipping her bang and let it rest on top of her right eyebrow.
Her purple eyes now had a pointed sharp black dot, symbolizing her power. She wore a one-piece black dress that was gently wrapped with a black shawl on her waist. The dress reached a little above her knee.
”True Spirit Body, Dark Butterfly Spirit.”
A pair of wings appeared again. Although it didn't have any change in its appearance, Alex could see the ridiculous amount of Dark Energy inside her wings. However, her scythe now turned completely black on its handle, coupled with butterfly patterns that made it recognizable since it had the same color as her hairpin.
The blade had two colors: black on the outside, green on the inside, complementing each other when running side by side.
Unlike Jeanne, there was no baptism from the sky. Instead, all the Dark Energy wrapped her and formed a ball to host her body inside as if she started her last evolution.
They looked at each other before feeling something was coming. Anna stretched her wings and flapped them, sending all the Dark Energy to all directions.
Alex and the others used their barriers to stop this rampaging energy without hesitation.
”Ah, my daughter. My daughter has become the grim reaper. Look at this grandfather… I don't mind if it's my granddaughter that takes this old man. My daughter is the prettiest.” Rilt became a total idiot and cheered like Anna was an idol or something.
Even Vina needed to stop his mouth from opening so as to not bother them before Alex sent him away with his Teleportation Array.
Anna's cultivation solidified as she gradually finished the last step.
Boom.
Another surge of Dark Energy appeared and struck the barrier, rampaging inside the barrier.
Alex simply watched her progress with his Spirit Eyes and would stop as soon as a mistake happened.
Just when they thought this would be over, they were wrong. Anna released another powerful energy wave and shook the barrier.
Even the others felt that power and furrowed their eyebrows.
Alex muttered while observing Anna's change. ”Is this happening because of the difference in understanding their power?”
”I'm afraid so.” Vina nodded with a serious expression. ”Well, I don't understand it myself even though I'm learning Darkness Law. And since my daughter has done it before me, I don't think I will continue mastering it as my understanding and hers will clash.”
”That's a wise decision, but are you sure, Vina?” Lin Xingzhi agreed to her but still asked for confirmation.
”She is my child and my treasure. If she can live well and surpass me like this, do I need anything more? No. She and Anya will always be my pride and joy.” Vina shook her head. There wasn't a single trace of regret or envy in her eyes.
”Is that so? Then we will let you be the first to congratulate her.”
”Ahaha. Thanks.” Vina nodded.
Slowly but surely, the energy in her body subsided before it began consolidating in her body. She took a bit less time than Jeanne, but a few hours had passed.
The moment she opened her eyes, Anna smiled and nodded. ”I have succeeded.”
