808 Convincing Elizabeth (2/2)
”!!!” The words echoed inside the room, shaking everyone's heart.
Even her grandfather, who was trying to find fault in her governing, couldn't help but choke. ”What did you say?”
”The question remains the same.” Firia smiled.
Many people began to look down, falling into deep thought. They were high ranking people in this kingdom, so they knew many things, including the legends. And they had once stumbled upon a mysterious disappearance of the Gods and Goddesses.
Firia also connected her knowledge and this question as she immediately thought about what to say.
”Don't you think it's weird to find those Gods and Goddesses suddenly disappeared? What kind of reason would such beings vanish without any apparent reason?” Firia smirked.
”Are you telling me that there is a connection between their disappearance and this incident?” Elizabeth squinted her eyes. ”No… Is this also his lie?”
”It's not his lie nor his plot. This is the truth. I am sure that the Royal Family knows something about it, right? And didn't you meet—”
”Stop!” Elizabeth gritted her teeth. Such information shouldn't be revealed to anyone other than the royal family, so she didn't let Firia say it.
Although Firia found it nothing but a mere piece of information, she also had no obligation to say it. She simply wanted to threaten her because she knew Elizabeth would stop her from talking.
On the other hand, Elizabeth also found the question to be the truth. She remembered when only a few Gods and Goddesses appeared when she was in that tower… And was convinced that Firia must have something to do with it.
'They might be souls, but they were former Gods and Goddesses. Did she and Alexander learn something from them because of the special treatment?' Elizabeth stroked her chin with a solemn expression.
”How about this…
My Husband is waiting for you on the battlefield. You can go there first to check the situation and ask him about the answer yourself. I believe he has known something new right now.” Firia paused. ”And as I said, if we lose, Divine Kingdom will also perish.”
The ministers wanted to rebuke her, but they stopped, knowing it was indeed the truth. Seeing the Freedom Sect and Blackwade Clan behind her, half of the power already gathered around them.
Besides, Firia also told her that they had gotten the confirmation from the Phantasm Sect. With them, they had enough power to represent the world.
'Still, we don't know anything about this portal, so how can we suddenly mobilize all our forces without any reason? Besides, the problem is not too big at the moment, making it hard to convince the crowd.' Letizia wiped her eyes a few times, thinking hard about this matter.
”I realize how hard it's to move, but I am sure you will be convinced as long as you meet my Husband.”
”Hmm… Meeting the Divine Slayer huh… It's true that his reputation is too big as he killed many people under God Rank. If he is leading this, he might be able to slay all our enemies.'
'Pfft! Divine Slayer…' Jeanne sent a thought transmission to Firia. 'When we were in the Blackwade Clan, they were calling Master Battle Emperor because of his brilliant strategy and the fact that he had yet to lose despite fighting so many influences.
'And when we were in the Phantasm Sect, they thought him as a Harbinger of Death. Because they didn't want to get killed if they didn't comply, the sect leader was pressured to accept. They are too hilarious.'
Firia also found his unique title not long ago since she just got back from their honeymoon. Although it sounded badass, it was too embarrassing for Alex. There was even a period of him getting angry because they teased him with those titles.
Luckily, the news came while they were on honeymoon, so Alex couldn't punish them yet. And the moment he returned, he met this problem.
Firia still had no change of expression as to not change the mood of Elizabeth. Instead, she pressured her more by saying. ”We are planning to meet the Seven Influences. I believe we can ask the Ancient Blue Family since you also know how they operate. As for the Drunken Pavilion, I don't think I need to say anything, right?”
What she said was true. After reaching this point, if they didn't agree to come, the only influence that didn't come would only be them. At that time, they might be scrutinized by the whole world.
Hence, Elizabeth decided. ”I understand. I will go with you to see the situation.”
After persuading Elizabeth, Firia continued to the next place, convincing each influence's leader to make their decision. Davi was a bit hard to convince, but luckily, it ended without them agreeing on anything to him. If they still asked for a trade with a problem like this, they would be seen as hypocrites anyway, and it was something Davi didn't want to see.
However, as one would expect, Manness was the most annoying of all. He looked fed up about this problem and wanted to stay in his sect. Firia used the other influences as well to pressure him to go to the battlefield until he agreed.
And just like that, Firia managed to grab everyone within three days.
Aileen opened the gate to the Freedom Sect before heading toward the battlefield where Alex stayed. He was standing on a cliff where he could see the general situation of the battlefield.
Far in front of him was a huge dark portal that seemed to be connecting to an ominous place. It gave powerful energy to the point they felt repulsed just by watching the energy.
Their instinct told them to not go through that tunnel because it would be the day they die.
Around that portal, they got a sight of more than thirty thousand monsters, going back and forth as they fought against the disciples of Freedom Sect.
”That is the Ancient Ruin.” Elizabeth pointed her finger to a white building below the portal.
They recognized the building as well and was surprised to see that the ruin was reduced to piles of rubbles.
It seemed Shakdi decided to risk it all and abandoned the Ancient Ruin, so they could focus on maintaining the tower as to prevent more monsters from coming. They needed to adjust the rate of the monsters so they didn't outnumber humanity by much.
”This is just a small portion of them. From what I know, there will be around a few million if we don't solve this matter as quickly as possible.”
”A few million?” The representatives dropped their jaw and blinked a few times as if they heard something ridiculous.
The moment he sensed them, Alex turned around and smiled. ”Thank you for coming here. And yeah, what she said is completely right. I am here to discuss what we need to do to close the portal that has been unsealed again after a few thousand years…”
