Chapter 742 - The Minotaur (1/2)
”Roar roar roar!” The roars from the minotaurs echoed from the horizon as Leoz led them toward Alex and the others.
”Get ready.” Alex furrowed his eyebrows, not releasing his Spiritual Energy yet.
They waited until they were fifty meters in front of them before Alex and Firia made their appearance. They flew to the sky and held hands, connecting their Pure Fire and Sacrificial Element.
Firia created a ball and inserted her Sacrificial Fire inside, releasing them in a single burst.
”Flame of Dawn!”
The torrential fire rained toward the minotaurs.
”Moo!” One of them roared, alarming the entire group. They suddenly raised their hands in unison, trying to protect themselves with their strong body.
Alex already saw this and asked Firia. ”Aim at their stomach or legs. I don't mind if they don't die because the damage will be far lesser if you aim at their arms.”
Firia nodded and controlled all the torrential flames, lowering their targets a few centimeters.
*Boom Boom Boom!*
A series of explosions shook the entire desert, causing the ground to vibrate. Alex activated his Spirit Eyes to check their condition because he knew that the minotaurs should be stronger than those Dark Elves.
”Some of them are injured, some of them somehow react to that attack and block it with their hands. Kill the injured first. We are going to rain them down again with Fire.” Alex commanded as he summoned his firebirds instead of his fire swords. Sherry, Stina, and Kyle summoned theirs as well, totaling one thousand and five hundred firebirds.
As soon as Alex rained them down, he only targeted those who were not injured by his attack previously, bringing down their physical abilities as much as possible. On the other hand, the assassination squad appeared from the left of the battlefield, killing every single injured minotaur they found. It was pretty effective because most of them couldn't react to the new attacks, so the squad killed them either in one or a few rounds.
Alex then continued raining them down until a few of them decided to leap toward him. At this time, Fabio, Vera, and Anna attack them as the second wave, killing those that got hurt by the firebirds.
It was very effective because they couldn't do a single thing. Every time they wanted to break through this formation, the firebirds would go their way and explode. On the other hand, the fire attacks kept raining them down from above.
Until they finally killed all minotaurs within twenty minutes. It was pretty fast, right? Unless Alex and the others needed to recover after this due to using an extraordinary amount of Spiritual Energy.
Alex sat down and took a deep breath. ”This will be hard because there is a possibility that the leader of this place will be very powerful.”
”I am afraid we won't be able to finish them in a single day, especially if we need to do this over and over again. One and a half days if we fight the same number as yesterday.” Firia nodded, picturing how they conquered this place.
Alex shook his head and looked at Anna. ”How is it?”
”They don't really have a strong mind, so I guess I can control them. However, I can only use it on seven Martial Saint monsters.” Anna nodded, giving a thumb up to him.
”That's enough. With seven Martial Saints, we can make the war more convenient.”
”Yeah. We will proceed like this then?”
”I don't have a better plan at the moment, so yeah. We will have Anna to control seven Martial Saint. I don't mind having 1-Star Martial Saint, but you need to have perfect control of them.” Alex stared at Anna's eyes for a few seconds before turning his head away.
”If that is your desire, I can only control three more. You don't want something like soldiers, right? Instead, you must want to have some minotaur leaders.”
”You know me well.” Alex smirked. ”If possible, don't do anything reckless. I don't know whether they have the intelligence or not, but there is something different than the one I faced in the Potential Tower.”
”They seem a bit weaker though, but I am not sure. I need to observe them a bit more before drawing a conclusion. On the other hand, I will check whether they are qualified to help us through this journey.” Anna nodded. ”If you want to do this, we should bring one of the Dark Elves with us.”
”No. I want someone who can struggle in front, so we will have an easier time.” Alex shook his head.
”Sure. I will do it.” She nodded. ”I will search for the monsters myself.”
Alex smiled and waited for another few minutes, recovering his Spiritual Energy as much as possible. After that, they headed toward the next settlement not far from this place and destroyed them in one hour or so.
They continued their way toward and killed every single minotaur in their way, except a few that Anna found exceptional. It turned out that it wasn't that hard to capture a minotaur because they had lower intelligence levels than dark elves.
Now that it came to this, Alex finally got a few minotaurs to sacrifice in the front line to help Leoz.
It was until the last settlement where they needed to fight one hundred fifty minotaurs at once that Alex finally changed his strategy.
”So, are we going to keep using this strategy or change it like when we fought against those Dark Elves?” Anya asked.
”Using the same as Dark Elves… I, Nelson, and Leoz will be the one to fight the boss. I want to separate him from the pack, but I don't think I can…” Alex sighed.
”How about using your Spatial Gate? If he doesn't go in, we can push him inside,” Anya suggested while thinking about the rest of the minotaurs. It would be hard for them to fight against the one hundred and fifty minotaurs with only twelve of them.
”Come out.” Alex summoned Sherry and the others as they flew out of his body. ”We will do the same thing. However, I will try to kill it faster. I didn't use my energy before, so this time, I will go all out.”
No one complained about this and nodded. They then stayed as Alex looked at Nelson. ”I won't go there. I will wait for you patiently and lay an ambush with Leoz. When the time comes, we will try to kidnap him.”
Nelson looked up, forming the battle situation in his mind before he realized Alex's plan. ”I understand.”
