624 Lightning Tribulation Part 2 (1/2)
*Rumble!*
As if responding to Alex's words, lightning appeared from within the cloud. However, his eyes suddenly widened after finding something unexpected that happened in the first lightning strike.
He deactivated his Spirit Eyes first, thinking there must be something wrong with the new Spirit Eyes. Yet, the form didn't change even after seeing it with his normal eyes.
The lightning turned into an arrow and contained a huge amount of energy. He never saw energy at this level, at the start of his Tribulation. After all, he always shattered the first one or two strikes with his strength alone.
This time was very different. He already felt dread striking on his chest, thinking he would die if he didn't take this attack seriously. Nelson also couldn't understand this and wished to help him, except he had no power to do so.
”What the heck?” Alex shouted as he clenched both his weapons tightly.
*Rumble!*
With the last rumble, the lightning struck forth.
”!!!” Alex pointed his finger toward the lightning strike, trying to test the water. A red light began glowing on his index finger before he shot a red laser from his finger.
”Flame of Extinction.”
The laser and lightning strike clashed with each other in the sky. There wasn't a single shock wave that came from this clash because the lightning tried to pierce through the flame while the latter tried to burn it.
It continued for a few more seconds. Sometimes the lightning pushed the flame back and vice versa. Alex observed it with his Spirit Eyes and used a little more of his Spiritual Energy to end the fight.
*Boom!*
A quite big explosion occurred when the two attacks destroyed each other. Alex never thought that there was a need to use his Flame of Extinction in the first wave. He shuddered when the thought of the next nine lightning tribulations appeared in his mind.
”This is truly a big problem. I wonder if I can actually finish this Lightning Tribulation…” Alex muttered to himself before shaking that doubt because the cloud sent another lightning.
The form of this second lightning was still an arrow, making him think if it was a fixed shape. Unfortunately, he had no time to think about it and controlled the soul within his body to step on the ground.
”Spirit Step, First Step.”
The energy in his surrounding began gathering around his body and getting sucked by his soul. He gained a hundred dragons of strength and struck the lightning arrow with his sword that had been glowing red for a while.
”Ignition Break!”
*Boom!*
His Ignition Break caused a massive explosion to weaken the lightning impact on Alex's body and dispersed some energy from the lightning strike. This action alone allowed Alex to split the lightning into two.
When Alex thought about it, the light flashed once again, and another lightning arrow struck down.
Alex's expression turned serious as he watched this lightning seriously. His sword and spear glowed in red color before a fire sparked and covered his weapons.
Taking another deep breath, the aura in his body suddenly changed as Alex released a golden aura from his body. The aura rose to the sky before turning into a dragon.
*Roar!* Making its presence known, the dragon letting out a loud roar.
Alex felt the surging strength inside his body as the dragon began absorbing the energy around and turning it into Alex's strength.
”Dragon Aura!”
With this strength, Alex became pretty confident about this strike and slashed the lightning with his sword and spear.
”Heaven Light Slash!”
”Ha!” Alex roared to get more excited and bring more energy. According to his Spirit Eyes, this arrow shouldn't last out much longer. Yet, he also felt the same for his Martial Arts after clashing for more than twenty seconds.
Even so, he didn't become impatient and waited until the lightning arrow's energy slowly depleted naturally in the clash.
Only after a minute, Alex realized there was only twenty percent energy left inside the arrow. He channeled more energy in both weapons and pushed the lightning tribulation.
*Bam!*
The moment it cut the arrowhead, the momentum couldn't be stopped as it slowly made its way toward the body before splitting the arrow into four. The arrow itself was slightly bigger than his body, so Alex breaking this arrow didn't really look weird.
Alex took a deep breath and clenched his weapons tightly. He didn't know what would happen next, especially the tenth wave, when the first three lightning strikes already gave him so much trouble.
He shook his head furiously before focusing back on the sky, not wanting to be pessimistic.
The next lightning strike appeared in the form of a spear, and the color changed into purple as usual. There was no clue about the shape of the lightning, confusing Alex very much.
The normal lightning waves would only be a typical lightning strike while the Golden Lightning would have the appearance of a dragon. Yet, the yellow-colored lightning strike was in the form of an arrow while the blue colored lightning was taking the shape of a spear.
Alex thought for a moment. 'What the heck with this lightning form? Is there actually someone controlling the Lightning Strike? System?”
