Chapter 468 - Mysterious Young Maiden (1/2)
Ling Chuxi pierced a few gold needles into Jiang Wuhen’s back to release the blood clots that had formed and then sprinkled on some medicinal powder.
Jiang Wuhen felt a wave of coldness on his back and the waves of pain and stagnation in his internal organs felt much better. He knew that Ling Chuxi was helping him by providing treatment.
“It seems like I thought too much,” said Jiang Wuhen with an awkward smile.
Ling Chuxi ignored him and continued to pierce needle after needle into his skin. Slowly, the deep brown palm print on Jiang Wuhen’s back changed into a fresher redder color. And then, as the blood clots slowly dispersed, the palm print also became that much lighter.
“Done. Consider yourself lucky,” said Ling Chuxi as she started to put away her needles. After this treatment of Golden Needles Soothing the Meridians, Jiang Wuhen did not need long to recover to his usual state and the effects of the palm attack would not result in any hidden diseases either.
“Why did you save me?” Jiang Wuhen asked, trying to sound casual. He could tell that Ling Chuxi and Ling Yichen did not have much positive feelings towards him. They could have totally left him behind and escaped on their own earlier on. There was no need to carry along a burden like him in such a situation. Furthermore, Elder Qiu’s appearance already proved that his words were not lies and that this small path indeed led to Rejuvenation Valley therefore they didn’t need him to lead the way anymore. They had no need to save him.
“Although you’re a little hateful, but no matter what, you are still a companion. I don’t wish to see you die before my eyes,” replied Ling Chuxi nonchalantly.
“Companion?” Jiang Wuhen was stunned as he muttered this word to himself repeatedly. His expression turned complicated, it was hard to tell what he was thinking.
Ling Chuxi did not pay further mind to him as she seized the limited time she had to rest. After resting for a bit, she ate some food and the few of them continued walking along the small path.
…
At the same time, on a lone peak rising from the ground, a young maiden stood facing the wind. Her long white skirt danced in the wind and it was as if her graceful and agile figure was a part of the clouds. Even though she was right in front of one’s eyes, she gave off a feeling of ethereal nothingness. The girl had a beautiful face and an elegant temperament with looks as cold as an otherworldly fairy, making one feel that she could only be admired from a distance and couldn’t bear to have the slightest bit of l.u.s.tful desire for her.
