Chapter 463 - Unable to Differentiate Between Good and Bad (1/2)
“Wow, Miss Ling, how did you know?” Jiang Wuhen’s eyes s.h.i.+mmered as he asked this question. He felt as though he had met a bosom buddy. He was so excited that he was about to pull out the cloth banner in question to display it.
“Would you believe me if I tell you I will beat you up if you pull out another cloth banner?” said Ling Chuxi coldly.
“I believe! I believe!” blurted Jiang Wuhen, immediately retracting his hand from the cloth banner and scooted aside.
The chill of the night was very pressing, but the bonfire they set up by the side of their makes.h.i.+ft campsite was warm and comfortable.
“Delicious, delicious. Miss Chu, I am not sure how you roasted the meat to make it taste so good. Could you teach me? I have wandered around so I have tasted all kinds of delicacies? Yet I have never tasted such wonderful and delectable roasted meat.” Jiang Wuhen started to chirp away again as he sat in front of the bonfire enjoying roasted meat.
“Just eat quickly.” Ling Chuxi did not wish to talk nonsense with Jiang Wuhen. If she really were to tell him, she reckoned that there would be another addition to his collection of cloth banners featuring large words reading, ‘Number One Chef In The World, North-South Style Roast, Fry, Stew And Barbeque’. Who knows, he might even add on words like, ‘Also Capable Of Organizing Red And White Happy Matters’.
After having dinner, Ling Chuxi went to the carriage to rest. Ling Yichen and Jiang Wuhen also went to rest in a tent they set up.
In the vastness of night, the forest also slowly quietened down and in the dark, a few figures in black quietly approached.
The figures in black listened carefully and heard the even breathing sounds coming from the carriage and the tent. They surmised that people within the campsite seemed to be in deep sleep.
The figures in black exchanged glances and slowly drew their swords. In the firelight, a sword moved with a silver gleam looking like a poisonous snake maneuvering through the trees. The figures in black suddenly moved forward and pierced their swords in the direction of the carriage and tent respectively.
‘Thud’ There was a m.u.f.fled sound, then the person who was attacking the carriage was sent flying. Just like a kite with a broken string, the person flailed around in mid-air before falling heavily onto the ground.
Immediately after that, Ling Yichen’s upright figure emerged from the tent. The blade of his sword sent out a crisp ring as he unsheathed it and it gleamed brightly as it pierced towards the other two figures in black nearby. Amidst the crisp ringing sounds, the two figures in black were sent retreating backwards by a strong wave of Battle Qi.
