Ling Chuxi thought that he was finally prepared and so she raised her sword once again. Unexpectedly, just as she was about to reach him, he let out another ear-piercing, deafening roar.
“WAIT!”
His booming voice vibrated through Ling Chuxi till she felt dizzy.
“Oi! What are you doing right now?! Are you going to fight me or not?!” snapped Ling Chuxi in a tone that was both annoyed and cold at the same time.
“Don’t attack, don’t attack. I’m warning you. You better not attack!” instructed Pan Songtao hurriedly as he pointed at Ling Chuxi. Without waiting for Ling Chuxi to speak, let alone for her to react, he turned around and jumped offstage and out of the fighting ring by himself. He landed on the ground below with a thump whilst saying, “I’ll do it myself. I will do it myself! Don’t attack, I will come down here by myself!”
Ling Chuxi looked at this scene with her eyes popped wide open and her mouth agape. What exactly was Pan Songtao doing right now? Was he admitting defeat? In such a manner? Yet, before admitting defeat, he had so solemnly spoken such nonsense?
Even the referee was stupefied. What kind of situation was this?
“It would be too shameful to get beaten up by you like Zhang Dongzhi was. He was sent rolling all over the ground so disgracefully. So, I’ll give up on my own. Hey, referee! Are you blind? Didn’t you see me gracefully get out of the fighting ring on my own? Hurry up and announce that I lost.” Pan Songtao muttered his justification for throwing the match to himself at first, then turned his head and shouted at the referee who had been rendered dumb to announce the results of the match.
The referee finally regained his senses and immediately called out the verdict that Ling Chuxi had won the match and therefore made it through to the next round of the compet.i.tion.
Ling Chuxi stood in the fighting ring in a daze. She only regained her sense after some time. Then, she mechanically turned her head to look at Pan Songtao who was still standing on the ground below, next to the fighting ring. Geez, this Pan Songtao was really weird!
