She didn’t ask about it and changed the subject instead.

“My eyes?” Xia Rulin continued speaking with a sigh, “There is no need. I am very clear on this matter in my own heart.” She shook her head and smiled bitterly as she spoke.
“Mother, how would you know if you don’t even try?” asked Xia Zhuoyi anxiously.
Xia Rulin heard how anxious her son was and decided to compromise her decision. “All right then, I will have to trouble Chuxi,” she said willingly. However, from her expression, one knew she did not carry any great hopes.
Ling Chuxi stood up and began to examine Xia Rulin. She pulled down Xia Rulin’s lower eyelid to take a look, then she took Xia Rulin’s pulse. During this period, Xia Zhuoyi didn’t even dare exhale. He looked at Ling Chuxi nervously with antic.i.p.ation, fearful of her saying something like there was no way of curing his mother.
“It is treatable. It’s just that you’ll have to suffer a little, Aunty Xia,” concluded Ling Chuxi with a serious expression once she finished her checkup.
“Really? It is? I knew Ling Chuxi would be able to treat you! This is just too good!” exclaimed Xia Zhuoyi in shock and happiness.
