Chapter 112 - BANG (1/2)
”Alright, have you finished piecing together your gun? I really want to get back to work. We need to be at Nascent soul soon.”
”Yeah, yeah. Just give me another 5 minutes. Putting together the barrel is not fun.”
5 minutes later:
”Done!” Blue jumped up from the bed with a red glowing LMG in her arms.
After building an LMG for so long, she was indeed relieved that she had finally finished. Any more of this and she might have burnt herself out. Literally. As of now, her clothes had melted along with a portion of the bed.
”Epare to them. Using their guns on bandits was like dropping a bomb on an ant.
”This city has a Core Formation city lord, lets go and challenge him.” Simon walked towards the door in a hurried state, dragging Blue by the arm.
”Why now? And why the city lord? Can't we just go straight to the Yawning Immortals Sect and then breakthrough there after getting some fighting experience? I'm sure they must have plenty of elders we can fight to gain some much needed battle experience.” Blue suggested seriously as she tried to halt Simon.
”Plus, we can go straight to Master Wang's sect after completing the trials. If we do all of this right, we can rescue the vice-leader with plenty of time to spare. Who knows? We might even break through to the Immortal Warrior stage like Wang. Once we get strong enough, we can finally leave this place with a goal completed and go back to HQ for a celebration.”
”Hmmm… you are right. You can lead the way this time, I might know a lot about this world, but I have no clue about the sect. Wang was supposed to be a mysterious character that only appeared in the protagonist's time of need. Well since the protagonist is probably dead, at the very least deaf, Wang's story arc is in shambles.” Simon sighed as he stopped walking.
”Good, I will guide us through a route that the old man recommended. It goes through the exact same forest that we went through before!”
”Lead the way.”
2 hours later:
Simon and Blue traversed the forest in a timely manner, making sure to keep a stable and efficient pace so as to not tire them out too quickly. With a timer hanging over their heads, they needed to do things quickly. One year could easily become one month in the blink of an eye.
As they travelled, Simon hanged his gun near his waist, ready to grab and shoot. Should a beast appear and ambush them, Simon would waste no effort to destroy it with just the mass of his gunfire. In an age where guns reign supreme, Simon is also Supreme.
”Stop right there, youngsters.” A middle aged man wielding a lever action rifle appeared in front of them, pointing his gun towards Blue.
”I am Ghost Crow, and you have stumbled upon my territory. Leave after dropping all of your artefacts or else you will die today.”
BANG
”No.”
FLOP
The barrel of Simon's gun exhaled a gentle smoke. One shot was all it took. The bandit's body laid on the ground with a single hole through the middle of the forehead. A simple mistake.
”Every single bandit encounter is a waste of time. That guy might have been a Core Formation expert, but he was so damn weak.” Blue laughed.
”Continue.” Simon tapped Blue's shoulder after quickly looting Ghost Crow's corpse.
”What did you even find, before we leave?”
”A couple hundred gold coins. This guy was pretty rich, but now he's dead.”
