1157 Energy from the Universe (1/2)

Communicating with fanatical individuals could not be based on common sense. They were usually already convinced of their own theories. Pretending to understand their worldview might end up causing them to resent you. If you instead came across as curious and with humility, they were more willing to share their thoughts with you.

Sure enough, Peter Lee, as if overcome by an itch, asked, laughing, ”You really hit the nail on the head... Have you heard of dark matter?”

Dark matter. Zhang Zian had definitely heard about this energy within scientific literature. However, it was currently only a theory, and no substantial evidence of its actual existence had been found.

Many scientists tended to think that it was because of the existence of dark matter that the universe was constantly expanding rather than contracting. According to theory, mysterious dark matter occupied about 70% of the total material of the universe, and it was the unconstrained master of it all.

Yet it was precisely because dark matter was so mysterious that besides scientists' many speculations about the nature of dark energy, civilians also conjured up a wide variety of whimsical explanations for its existence. Upon hearing this statement, Zhang Zian knew that Peter and the School of Cosmic Information believed an absurd lie about the nature of dark matter.

Sure enough, Peter said firmly, ”Yes! Dark matter is actually the original waves of energy that the universe first released before the dawn of modern civilization. They transcend normal life to a higher stage of being and can leave our current universe. However, dark matter could not bear seeing how unintelligent life struggled through daily living and thus generously dedicated their knowledge to all civilizations in the universe in the form of dark matter!”

Zhang Zian was left speechless.

He would like to brush this off as nonsense. However, the nature of dark matter was something the scientific community could not explain. It was highly similar to God in that one could choose not to believe in God, but no one could prove whether God existed or not.

Peter Lee continued, ”The mandate of the School of Cosmic Information is to study the dark matter in the universe. As long as it can break down the information carried by dark matter, human beings can reach a new evolutionary height…”

Zhang Zian glanced at them and said, ”In other words, the heavy responsibility of human evolution falls on your shoulders?”

”You could say that.” Peter nodded his head. ”But I have to correct you. It is on our shoulders, yet you can also feel and receive pure energy from the universe. Did you not feel the sense of calling within you? As if you are responding to something ancient?”

As there were simply too many people crowded into the small tomb, Zhang Zian only felt that the air in the room was getting more and more stifling. Nevertheless, he decided he should play the part. ”It seems that...my body is getting lighter, as if it is floating.”

”Yes! That is the feeling! That is why I said you are talented. Even our most senior members have had to sit quietly on their knees and hold each other's hands just to let pure energy blend into their bodies before feeling the same sensation! Yet you felt it so easily!” Peter smiled brightly, as if truly happy for Zhang Zian.

Zhang Zian glanced at them and then looked at the vents sideways. He asked, ”You have been to so many places, so why is the cosmic energy here more intense? I mean, isn't there a king's tomb with a similar structure?”

”This…” Peter took a moment before replying with a sense of uncertainty, ”We are still learning at the very initial stage. The information about the universe that has been uncovered so far is very limited. We are focused more on the body, on what we feel. We can feel more of that energy here. More intense and pure... If I am to comment, I think it is because this is the center of the Great Pyramid.”
