Chapter 630: The Formulation

Zhang Wanguo had already gotten the tools ready. He pretentiously put on a lab coat and disposable rubber gloves, then carefully took off the lids of a few different substances. He took a certain amount from each one with a syringe, and injected them all into a graduated beaker.

He was serious and focused, revealing a completely different side from his sales rep persona during the day. During the day, he had to kiss up to people in order to sell more pets. But now, he needed to be serious to make a greater profit.

Real lipolytic injections were expensive and banned in many countries. The Ministry of Health of China hadn't banned it outright, but it was prohibited to sell the substance used to make the lipolytic injections to individuals. It also wasn't allowed for unqualified people to privately own the injections. It was in the realms of plastic surgery.

Love Lovely Pets Breeding Base hadn't purchased real lipolytic injections, as they were too expensive for them afford. Instead, they'd bought its main ingredients and created the mixture on their own. It worked, even if the proportions weren't as accurate. They were only getting injected into dogs anyway.

As he mentioned earlier, with the huge amount of animals in the base, a great number of puppies were born each year. Some of them would always differ in size from the others. Some were bigger than their own kind, while some were smaller. Similarly, some humans could grow to 2 meters tall, while some could only reach 1.5 meters.

Regardless of those who were 2 or 1.5 meters tall, most of them were neither giants or dwarfs. However, Teacup Puppies actually were dwarfs. Using lipolytic solutions, Zhang Wanguo intended to shrink the ones who were on the smaller size, making them look like dwarfs.

Zhang Wanguo had worked in the pet business for a long time, and had done some research. The first time he saw normal-sized dogs giving birth to smaller puppies, he thought about breeding Teacup Puppies correctly. This was to wait until the smaller puppies reached maturity, and then to let them breed together in order to give birth to smaller puppies. This was how real Teacup Puppies were bred. It was nothing more than genetics and mutation.

But after careful consideration, he realized that it was too difficult and time consuming to breed them properly. He had to learn about genetics on his own, spend years or even decades recording and planning the lineage of smaller puppies, and keep trying until consistently smaller Teacup Puppies were being bred.

He could either succeed in the breeding attempts, or fail. It was more likely that he would fail. Taking human beings as an example, shorter parents could also have children of normal height. It was the same way with dogs.

Moreover, even if he made up his mind and got the approval from Love Lovely Pets Breeding Base to spend years or decades trying, by the time they successfully bred Teacup Puppies, would they still be popular then? Could they still be sold at high prices? Nobody could guarantee anything. Trends were changing too quickly those days.

So, he came to a conclusion. Why should he trouble himself? Wouldn't it be better to make quick cash by injecting lipolytic solutions into small puppies? He didn't want to be a freaking scientist anyway, and the boss of Love Lovely Pets Breeding Base would never agree to it anyways.

He had another concern. If he succeeded in breeding the Teacup Puppies, he would soon lose his job. Why would his boss still keep him if he already had the breeding Teacup Puppies in his possession? The end of a hunting game was also the end of the hunting dog's service.

He wrote down the amount of each different substance in detail, and calculated the ratio with a calculator. He took out another syringe, and carefully adjusted the dose of each ingredient, until it was as he wanted. Then, he poured all the calculated ingredients into a new beaker and mixed them together.

He wasn't sure if he had the real lipolytic mixture. At least it wasn't for human use. If something went wrong, all he could lose was a little money and one dog.
