Famous shuddered and woke up.
The grass, the temple, the mountain breeze, the smoke, and the tea fragrance disappeared as if they had never existed.
Famous was in the pet shop, laying next to Zhang Zian's recliner, dozing off before breakfast. Galaxy ran past Famous, chasing the American Shorthair. Old Time Tea wasn't baking potatoes, but was watching the morning news with a cup of tea placed in front of it.
Famous stood up and stretched.
Famous looked up and saw Sun Xiaomeng frowning and pacing in the shop, as if she was thinking about something difficult.
Zhang Zian's voice was heard not far away. Famous tilted its head and saw Zhang Zian outside the pet shop, talking to Sheng Ke. A moment passed before Sheng Ke got into the police car and drove away.
Zhang Zian came back inside, and said apologetically to Sun Xiaomeng, ”Thank you for lending me your car, but as of right now, I can't really think of a good idea.”
Sun Xiaomeng sighed, unable to hide her disappointment. ”I don't blame you. I should go. Don't forget to fill up the tank and wash my car.”
”Stop nagging me. You already told me once,” Zhang Zian replied.
Sun Xiaomeng retorted bluntly, ”Because I'm afraid that you'll pretend to forget.”
Famous couldn't figure out what was going on. Did it miss something while it slept?
Famous heard wings flapping upstairs. From the stairwell, to be exact.
”Quack! Hello, doctor! Why aren't you wearing a white coat today? I like your white coat!”
Richard, who had just woken up, staggered from the second floor. As soon as it saw Sun Xiaomeng, it immediately flew over to her.
”Hello, Richard!”
Sun Xiaomeng temporarily forgot about the issue with Love Lovely Pet. She raised her left arm in front of her chest. Richard landed on her arm and looked her in the eye.
”I didn't wear my white coat because my clinic is closed today,” replied Sun Xiaomeng. She didn't answer perfunctorily because the other party was a bird.
”Quack! Closed? Doctor, are you on vacation?” Richard asked curiously.
”Well, yes. I'm returning to my hometown for the Lunar New Year,” she said half-jokingly. ”Richard, would you like to come?”
Richard pondered seriously and rubbed its chest with its beak. ”I'm afraid I can't. Without my care, this idiot will die. I must take responsibility as his owner!”
”I don't need your care,” Zhang Zian replied. ”You're nothing, but a troublemaker. How dare you claim you take care of others!”
Sun Xiaomeng said regretfully, ”Either way you wouldn't be able to come with me. My hometown is in the countryside. It's too cold in the winter and you'll get sick.”
”Quack! Doctor, you'll be back after the Lunar New Year, right?” Richard asked, tilting its head.
She smiled. ”Of course! I count on my clinic to make a living.”
”That's good,” Richard said satisfyingly. It loosened its grasp and flew to a display case nearby. ”Have a safe trip, doctor!”
