Seeing Zhang Zian leave, Fen Xuan thought they just disagreed on shooting methods, but Zhang Zian said, ”Sorry, Director Feng. I need to think about it.”
”Sure. The electrified wire net is still under construction and the shooting will happen later. Please feel free to tell us if you have any suggestions.” Feng Xuan said, feeling relaxed.
Zhang Zian thought about it and asked, ”Can we use CGI in this scene? It's really popular right now.”
”That would be difficult,” Feng Xuan shook his head, ”We have a limited budget and can't do CGI. It wouldn't just be making one Tibetan Mastiff, but a group of them. Even though we have enough money, our skills are not qualified enough, so we'll be laughed at by the audience. If they make fun of us, what we are doing becomes meaningless.”
Feng Xuan had a point. Zhang Zian thought about the CGI scenes he'd seen in movies. Even though it cost a lot, the monsters still looked fake and lame, like in City C. It couldn't even compare to Jurassic Park, which was made 20 years ago.
The scene with giant Tibetan Mastiffs running around would take more than 20 years to CGI as it was really hard to make their hair look real.
Xu Gang's phone rang. While he answered it, Zhang Zian took the opportunity to leave when Xu Gang called him, ”Wait a second! These Tibetan Mastiffs are already here, let's look at them together.”
Zhang Zian was interested. He only saw Tibetan Mastiffs on TV or in pictures, never one in the flesh, so he seized this opportunity and left the conference room with Fen Xuan and Xu Gang.
Cars were honking.
Several trunks made their way to the shooting area. The trunks stopped in front of the blank cages outside the wire netting. The staff pushed out 20 smaller steel cages out of the trunks. There was one adult Tibetan Mastiff locked in each cage.
When they pulled out the last cage, Zhang Zian's eyes widened as he noticed one of the Tibetan Mastiffs inside the cage was the King Tibetan Mastiff, the leader in the video.
Zhang Zian could feel its intimidating aura even though he was a few meters away. It looked like a male lion and was shaped like a massive bear. Its shoulders were half as tall as a grown-up man and its weight seemed to be over 100 kg.
This Tibetan Mastiff yawned and stretched while it shook its hair. You could practically feel its wildness. It looked at the crowd indifferently with its slightly red eyes.
Even though it was locked in a strong steel cage, Zhang Zian was so scared that he shuddered and felt as though he had been shocked from his tailbone to his neck. Every cell inside his body was screaming for help, warning him to get away from this wild animal.
It was not just him, some people had turned pale and some unconsciously took a step back.
Compared to this King Tibetan Mastiff, Famous looked like a baby. The King Tibetan Mastiff only glanced at Famous for a second before turning its head. It was not interested in the little dog because it looked like it could be crushed to dust within seconds.
Maybe it was the wolf gene in it, or the responsibility it had, but Famous didn't take a step back, it just calmly looked at the giant animal.
The 10 German shepherds stood not far away from the cages. They seemed to smell the danger and started barking together, especially Big Teeth, the biggest and strongest one among them. It shouted and bit the steel cage, looking ready for a fight.
The 20 Tibetan Mastiffs were all motivated to start fighting and barked back. They were much louder than the German Shepherds and their members outnumbered. Suddenly, this place was full of earsplitting barks.
Woof!
The King Tibetan Mastiff was annoyed by the barking, so it picked its head up and barked.
The sound made all the dogs quiet. Big Teeth was still barking but it was obviously quieter than before and only to save face.
Zhang Zian was the one who stood closest to the King Tibetan Mastiff. His ears were tingling, like they were still barking in his ears.
The young girls in the crew were so scared that they cried.
Famous shuttered a bit, then stood up back.
Xu Gang sighed, walking over to them as he said, ”These Tibetan Mastiffs were delivered from the Zang area and fed normal dog food, hoping to help with their wildness, but it seemed it didn't work at all.”
”It worked to some extent.”
