After Chen Taitong left, Qing Ren picked up his cellphone happily and dialed a number.
”Hello?” Someone answered. It was super loud over there and sounded like a karaoke bar.
”We got business,” Qing Ren said.
After a bit, the noise disappeared. That person probably walked out of the karaoke bar.
”It’s been a while. Mold has almost grown on me! What is it, a big deal or a small one?”
”Just a small deal,” Qing Ren replied.
”What? A small deal again? Sh*t!”
Qing Ren sighed and said as if he was worried about the country, ”Well, now the whole economy is going down. All of my money is in the stock market and real estate. The real economy is weak. It is good to have a deal. Don’t be picky.”
”Qing Ren, I suggest you change your location. Look, your office is too difficult to find. You won’t get much business there.”
Qing Ren laughed, ”Rent is cheap here. Why would I change my location? Honestly most of my customers come from word of mouth, so location is not a problem.”
”Well, never mind. Tell me, where is the deal?”
Qing Ren picked up a piece of paper and read, ”Zhong Hua South Road. Amazing Fate Pet Shop.”
”Holy sh*t! A pet shop? That’s crazy!”
Qing Ren laughed, ”The real economy is weak. Customers are limited. We have to do what we can.”
”Hey, Qing Ren. I remember you graduated from a good college, right? You know, nerds like yourself can only find so many big excuses!”
Qing Ren giggled, ”Don’t joke around, A Jin. If I graduated from a good college, I would’ve done much better!”
”Well, you are doing well enough. Don’t fake it! I know, you guys come up with the ideas and make the big bucks! We only get the pennies.”
Qing Ren smiled, ”So, are you going for this deal or not?”
”Oh yeah! Of course? Which part? How much?”
”An arm. 40 thousand,” Qing Ren replied.
”Hey, why don’t you only provide the leg as the only option to your customers? Eight out of ten would choose an arm to save money.”
Qing Ren disagreed, ”That wouldn’t work. If there is only one option, the customer doesn’t have a choice here. My theory is that the customers always come first. If the customers aren’t happy, where do I get the returning customers?”
”Fine. Stop your bullsh*t. Is there a time limit?”
Qing Ren recalled, ”No. The customer was a bit scared, so he didn’t mention it.”
”Ha-ha… That’s good, otherwise 40 thousand would not be enough.”
Qing Ren understood, ”You are going to…”
”Of course! We have to make more money to make up for the part that you took away from us.”
