Chapter 59 (1/2)

Just like Li Yao now, if players want to get out of the Sun Tower area, they must get a certification of proof from a class mentor. If the player were to go out in secret, he would be considered a jacker.

Most NPCs would not care much, but the map in World of Ancient Gods was very vast. In order to get to other parts of the map, players had to rely on flying mounts or transportation vehicles.

Of course, each race’s capital city had a teleportation portal but they were inaccessible to adventurers at this stage.

There were stage hurdles at each significant location. Without the certification of proof, it would be troublesome. Very, very troublesome. Not even the most prestigious race could complete the stages.

Without the certification, even if the player got to the Undercity by foot no matter how exhausting the journey was, it would be useless.

“Actually, the task is pretty simple. All you have to do is give this letter to the General, and the General will pass down the power of the Dark Ranger to you.”

Li Yao did not want to take on this task as most players at this stage could not even finish it. He already had clear Ranger task strategies in his mind that were still incredibly detailed. The Dark Ranger was certainly powerful, but he must be able to complete the task if he takes on the task. By the time he had the qualification, there was no telling which Level he would be at. Forget about Elites, by then there would already be a bunch of Leaders.

When Li Yao was about to refuse, a sudden thought flashed through his mind, he recalled a vital task.

He remembered this task clearly because it involved the Queen.

After the game had been running for two years, a player who was addicted to tasks had acquired a quest necklace at the Windrunner Spire.

The necklace was inscribed with this line: To my beloved little sister, Sylvanas. I will always love you, Alleria.

The player went through a whole lot of trouble to meet the Queen, and in the end, a beautiful yet sad melody had been heard ever since–The Lament of the Highbournes.

It was a harrowing story to the vast majority of the Queen’s fans. Many people shared this Easter Egg all over the internet and Li Yao had seen it.

When he saw his mentor hand over the letter, he accepted it without hesitation. “I’ll take on this task.”

“Let me remind you one more time, never let anyone know about this, remember, anyone.” Erin asked with utmost seriousness, “Can I trust you with that?”

“I don’t know if you would believe in me, but I know I can’t afford to mess with you anyway.” Li Yao smiled bitterly.

While possessing the Eye of the Creator, Li Yao had seen some of Erin’s attributes. Although he did not know what class she was, but there was one thing that was enough to intimidate anyone, she was a race Leader.

“I like smart people.” Erin’s smile made Li Yao’s insides churn. “I won’t treat you unfairly, this is my mount, I’ll lend this to you for five days. If you can’t finish the task within five days, you can give this letter to my mount and you can forget the rest.”

“Thank you, Mentor.” Li Yao smiled bitterly once again. This mentor really was not someone to be messed with. He did not know what was written in the letter, but he was still weak and did not have the strength to open the seal.

By offering Li Yao a temporary mount, it was sort of a push and a motivation, as well as giving him a time limit for the task.

Li Yao heard his private chat ringing. He left abruptly and went outside to pick up the call.

“LeadingBro explained to me that it was ThirdBro’s doing without his permission. What are you going to do?” Fengyi asked.

Li Yao’s eyes turned cold. “Can you connect me to LeadingBro now, I’ll talk to him personally.”

“He has already sent you a friend request.” Fengyi said.
