290 The Ministry (1/2)
Lacus was fully aware of it and as she thinks on how to help her junior apprentice in his mission to inform people about the possible future, she revealed to the upper-class about the records she found at Veda's database. It was when Wallace showed her the prince's logbook from one of the hidden archives of Veda.
Although it requires a certain level of access to open it, it wouldn't be too hard to find those people who have this level and ask them to validate the information.
”I haven't noticed this record before...”
”It's very well hidden. If you didn't ask us about this, I would never find this piece of news...”
”This is interesting... Let me study this a bit more. Maybe this is just a metaphor, the foreign people that will arrive may be a form of a new disease. We may be able to eliminate them but the new disease would appear once more if we've let our guard down. Yes... I get your point, the record may be stating facts, but we have to view it in every possible perspective...”
”This is alarming... But we have to confirm its authenticity first...”
”Of course, we have to do something about it. However, the Eternal Summit is about to happen. All top clans would be very busy preparing their forces in this event.”
Lacus heard different reactions after informing them about the prince's logbook. They acknowledge the book but its authenticity was being questioned or perhaps, they wanted to deny such groundbreaking news.
Anyway, she wasn't expecting that much about these people. After all, these magicians were only her clients. As an Arcanist and first apprentice of Sir Slaine Allusia, she has a lot of influence and many clients through her job.
These clients were not too outstanding but they report in the top executives of their clan or organization.
She just wanted them to learn about the existence of the record first and she believes it would cause a little chain reaction which is something she needed.
Finally, after a week of spreading information, she was contacted by the various top-officials and even the Ministry of Magic Education. Since she was the one who discovered and even actively spreading this news, she must've more gathered intelligence about this already, is what they've thought.
She even learned that the NMTI was even investigating this bit of information for a long time now. Thanks to someone who informed a previous survivor of the first northern continent expedition, Galatea, also known as Grandma Thea or Yumi's master.
In the end, she revealed that Yumi's source of information was the same as her and they wanted the same thing, to join with the preparation for the worst outcome.
Since the NMTI was partially aware of this, the other organizations started to take notice of this news and waited for everyone's actions about this.
It can't be helped that she was the one sent as a representative as they also lacked the manpower due to the nearing Eternal Summit which will be attended by the older generation that aims to showcase the power of each organization.
Erza may be young but her knowledge and ability surpassed many adult magicians. In short, she was one of the geniuses in the Mana Study that was being nurtured by the Ministry. This would also explain how she managed to appraise Wallace and Van's creation during their private duel in the international competition at Montego.
”I just wanted to hear your thoughts about some things...”
Wallace smiled wryly as he said this. He really wanted to hide the information about the possible incoming enemies so as not to cause panic to the people in case leaks of information would happen. The worse thing was if it exaggerated a lot and the information that the people receive was no longer close to the truth.
So, he made up his mind that it would be better for them to be aware of it as he controls the information that will be spread out. He will provide them as many details as he could so that there will be no guesses and lessen the panic that it may cause.
As the girls heard Wallace, they immediately gathered up and listened to what he was about to say.
”They're near... A small army from the enemy will arrive twelve days from now. But don't worry, their numbers were small and I'm confident that the Excellence I've just sent up there was fully capable of dealing with them. Unfortunately, I'm unaware when will the second arrive.”
Lacus and Yumi squinted their eyes after hearing this. This was a serious matter.
