178 Lacus Minerva and Alien Invasion (1/2)

Wallace returned to the Cloud Hawk Manor to settle some things. His agreement with Drake would still happen in the next full moon so there's still two weeks of preparation.

”Good evening, Sir Wallace. Miss Lacus would like to speak with you. She's waiting in the living room.”

”Alright. I'll meet her now.”

Wallace wasn't particularly sure why would Lacus meet him. But after thinking about it, this should be natural since they have the same master, they should at least get to know each other.

As Wallace entered the living room, he saw the lady who spent hundreds of million at the auction. Someone who also has an Assault Airship at her disposal and a Storage Bag artifact. Lacus is a lady in her 20's who has long blonde hair that has reached her waist, she is notable for her dark pink-coloured eyes. Her beauty is probably on par with Miya Linus, the rookie Celebrity Idol he met at his town.

”Senior Lacus, I was told to come here by Sir Clyne.”

”Wallace Ravencroft... I heard a lot of things about you. You've easily learned the first stage of AOTL and the new Spirit Forging Magic to create a Sixth Generation Artfiact within three days. Very impressive.”

”Thank you for your kind words.”

Although Wallace wanted to also praise his senior apprentice, he only have superficial knowledge about her.

”Mhm... Do you have your emblem with you?”

”Ah, yes. It's with me, here.”

Wallace took out the emblem given to him. He only knows that this is a token of his identity but his Divine Sense had detected a mysterious energy coming from it. Since it wasn't harmful, he didn't bother to investigate it further and thought that it's just some kind of a method to differentiate the genuine emblem from possible fakes.

Lacus took out a rectangular device with a size of an adult's palm. The device seems to be a small machinery with strange patterns on it. At the center was an indent where a small object can fit in.

”This is a device used to connect to Veda.”

”Veda?”

”You can think of it as the system or a network that the people who became a member of the upper-class uses to connect with each other. You can say it's an internet not for commoners.”

”I see... So I'm no longer a commoner, huh.”

”That's right. It should be Sir Slaine introducing this to you but he had to busy himself for his expedition. He asked me to help you get used to being part of the upper-class.”

Wallace stayed silent as he listened to Lacus. It seems that this conversation would take long.

”Your blood was integrated here in your emblem, so all authentication has been completed. Here... place your emblem at this space.” Lacus said after pointing at the center of the device.

Wallace followed her instruction and he connected successfully to Veda.

A light came out and a holographic screen appeared in front of the two.

”You can explore this on your own but I have to tell you some things first. It's about the rules of using Veda. We have to be careful of using this...”

An hour had passed as the two discussed about Veda the device to connect to it called, Terminal. Wallace made several questions which made him realize that this Veda was a an amazing private network for selected individuals. This system was also not unique to their country but the other seven countries could also use it to connect with each other.

Aside from the guaranteed security of information dissemination within Veda, it could not be used to other purposes. But even though that was the case, this Veda was still a huge contributor in securing high-level information like Arcanas, Secret Arts, Martial Techniques, High-Level Magic Structures, Forbidden Mana Artifacts, Sealed Mana Artifacts, Arcane Technology, List of Classified Mana Beast, and other wonders of this world can be accessed using Veda.

Using his emblem, he can only access, Level 1 information but it's more than enough for him to realize how big this world of magic is.

”I'll leave for now. Also, take this as a gift, junior apprentice.” Lacus smiled and left Wallace to explore Veda.

The latter thanked her and looked at the small box she left.

Wallace opened it quickly due to his curiousity. He wanted to see how generous his multi-millionaire senior apprentice was. As soon as she opened the box, he saw a familiar ring.  It was the red and blue ring similar to what he saw at the New Era's Magic Shop, the Blazing Thunder Ring personally made by her.
