Chapter 722: To do something (1/2)

The Vienna Conference is still going on, and the issue of refugees that should have received much attention has been subconsciously ignored.

The Russian representative didn't mention it, the Prussian representative pretended to be stupid, and no one asked for help. Naturally, the international community had passed the matter.

I don't know where to begin, the main task of the troops on the border between the two countries has changed from combat to suppression of refugee riots.

Since April, the number of refugees fleeing to Austria has decreased sharply, and by May there was almost no crossing.

Franz didn't know what happened during this period and didn't dare ask.

According to estimates collected by the Vienna government, the Prussian-Russian war has killed at least 4 million people and displaced more than 6 million.

Including local forces and guerrillas, the general army killed approximately 1.768 million and injured 382,000; the Russian army killed approximately 1.433 million and injured 671,000; and the direct civilian casualties were approximately 800,000, most of which were in the Federation.

It's no surprise that the war damage between the two countries was so close, and a large part was contributed by Polish local forces and guerrillas.

The robbers and bandits may also be counted up. There is no way to distinguish this stuff. The Russian army counted all the resistance arms.

After giving up the Warsaw region, Poland became an enemy war zone. Naturally there is no disability. The Russians will not rescue the wounded of the enemy. The number of disabled people in the general army comes from the soldiers of the Kingdom of Prussia.

Simply counting the Kingdom of Prussia, the number of war dead should be about 566,000, plus 382,000 disabled people, which is close to the million mark, and civilian casualties have passed.

With a population base of more than 10 million in the Kingdom of Prussia, this war has killed their generation. Due to the massive loss of youth, the labor force declined sharply, and the development of the Prussian kingdom after the war was not optimistic.

By contrast, the Russian Empire is much better. Although they also suffered heavy casualties, compared to the population base of the Russian Empire's 80 million, the losses on the battlefield were less than 3 percentage points.

In theory, the loss of this part of the labor force can be made up within the next five to ten years.

Of course, the account cannot be calculated like this. The large loss of young people will also affect future population growth. This is a persistent problem.

The worst people in the war are always civilians, and this time is no exception. Because of the scorched earth plan of the Russians, the number of refugees has increased.

The displacement of six million people does not mean that these people have become refugees.

With better economic conditions, they have sought refuge in other countries as early as possible. This group of people may have less than 100,000 people.

About 200,000 people also passed Austria's immigration application and settled in the colonies.

Before the fall of Warsaw, the Berlin government was still helping the refugees, and some lucky people have found jobs and established new homes.

The number of people in this group is about 300,000. Most of them are Rhineland immigrants resettled by the Berlin government before. They have their own skills and strong survivability.

Except for these people, there are genuine refugees.

When this 5.4 million is a theoretical figure, there are certainly not so many in fact. Many frail and sick people first saw God when they fled, and they could run out at most 4.7 million.

Before and after the outbreak of the Prussian-Russian war, Austria received a total of 1.436 million refugees. According to the current situation, it is difficult to exceed 1.5 million.

Protests by the Vienna government helped. Both the Russians and the Russians did not have the courage to expel refugees. Franz's most feared refugee wave did not occur.

More than four months have passed since the refugee crisis broke out. Without receiving relief for so long, there are actually few people left.

This means that the death toll caused by the refugee crisis directly exceeds the total number of deaths in the two countries.

I do n’t know, I was frightened and added all the data. The direct population loss caused by the Pu-Russian war was more than 8 million, and the indirect population loss was more than 10 million.

There are no more than fifteen countries in the world with a population of more than eight million this year. There are only eight countries in Europe: Austria, Russia, France, Britain, Spain, Germany, Prussia and the Nordic Federation.

Among them, the Nordic Federation has a population of only 8 million, and the German Federal Empire has a population of only 13 million. It is unknown whether the Prussian Kingdom can maintain the population of 8 million after the war.

Needless to say, this shocking data must be published. Without letting everyone know how terrible war is, how can you realize the value of peace?

Looking at this gold-filled statistical table, Prime Minister Weisenberg sighed: ”The Russian-Prussian War is the pinnacle of human war history. After this campaign, the era of the Continental War is over!”

Looking at the prudent Prime Minister, Franz was very skeptical that he was frightened, otherwise how could he come to this conclusion?

After glancing at the crowd, Franz's helpless discovery was that his emperor did not respond, and everyone else was immersed in the big data of ”eight million people died.”

Looking at the expressions of everyone, Franz was very doubtful that after the release of this data, anti-war waves would erupt in Europe.

Especially for many small countries, their total population is less than 8 million. What do they use to fill the bottomless pit of war?
