88 Mars Revolutionary Army (1/2)

Feng Lin had a look of astonishment on his face. He didn't expect that as the long-robed man explained, he would suddenly issue an invitation for him to join the so-called Mars Revolutionary Army.

But he had to apologize. It was impossible for him to join this organization.

There were many reasons behind his decision.

The most important thing was that he had never heard of such power named the Mars Revolutionary Army in the solar system before. Also, it was clear that this was a secret underground organization after thinking about it a little. It wouldn't be able to come out in the light, or the Solar System Coalition Government might even issue arrest warrants against the members of the Mars Revolutionary Army.

Feng Lin had no wish to join this. If he did so, wouldn't he become a mouse that could only hide underground, always hiding from a human that could live out in the open?

Although he respected their choices, different people ultimately had their own paths to walk. With regards to the invitation by this long-robed man, Feng Lin could only politely decline as he decisively shook his head.

”My apologies. I won't say anything to anyone else with regards to matters about your Mars Revolutionary Army, but it's impossible for me to join it. Your grudge with the Giant Pharmaceutical Company has nothing to do with me!”

He was merely an outsider, why was there a need for him to be embroiled in a dispute on Mars? All of this had nothing to do with him.

A wise man looks after his own hide!

In any case, Feng Lin didn't really think highly of them.

The solar system was a chaotic star region. The law and order were naturally in chaos here, created in vain as though they were merely something imaginary. It wasn't simply because of internal reasons as the main point was actually because of external reasons. It was the result of games between the various Supreme Interstellar Empires.

Unless the solar system was completely annexed by one of the Supreme Interstellar Empires—or an expert so strong that he could dominate everyone else appeared—it would be impossible for stability and order to return to normal.

It was impossible for the various Supreme Interstellar Empires to allow the solar system to have a peaceful and unified government. They would think of ways to sent their forces in to infiltrate.

How could a mere Mars Revolutionary Army be a match for the major interstellar powers that ruled the entire galaxy!

Although their ideals were noble, it was useless. Firstly, they didn't have an expert that could dominate the starry space. Secondly, they didn't have the leading interstellar technologies. In order to deal with a mere Giant Pharmaceutical Company, they already needed to act in the shadows. Hence, wanting to deal with the various Supreme Interstellar Empires? This was simply a mantis trying to stop a chariot; there was no chance of victory at all.

Although their ideals were beautiful, could it be eaten as a meal?

The universe abided the dark, cruel law of the jungle. Strength was the only true reliance one could depend on.

Feng Lin was extremely pessimistic about this Mars Revolutionary Army. Such an underground organization like this was destined to have no future. It was impossible for him to join it.

”How can you be so cruel? You simply have no humanity, as expected of an employee from the Giant Pharmaceutical Company! You are a butcher that enjoys human experimentation!” Seeing how cold Feng Lin was and seeing his lack of concern and disdain for their organization's lofty ideals, Snakeboy got angry and started cursing loudly.

Feng Lin's gaze turned cold. He swept his eyes over and spoke, ”I spared your life earlier, so don't challenge my patience any longer. You should be careful with your words as to not invite disaster upon yourself!”

His tone was filled with a clear warning. That Snakeboy instinctively wanted to retort sarcastically but was stopped by the long-robed man.

”Enough!” The long-robed man heavily spoke, stopping Snakeboy from commenting any further for fear of infuriating Feng Lin.

He was very clear of Feng Lin's strength. It wasn't easy to finally ease the tension between them, and he didn't want to stir up trouble.

If they really infuriated this man, he might be able to use some hidden methods to escape, but Snakeboy would die for sure. As his captain, the long-robed man naturally wouldn't allow Snakeboy to die so stupidly in vain, serving no purpose at all.

Snakeboy was stopped by the long-robed man. Maybe, he thought of his captain's prestige, or maybe, he feared Feng Lin's combat prowess. In any case, he could only suppress his resentment and anger deep within him.

Although the abilities of Snakeboy were bizarre and could be considered extraordinarily powerful when compared to cultivation apprentices, he was nothing more than a minor character in Feng Lin's eyes.

After the short burst of irritation, Feng Lin no longer glanced at him.

Snakeboy clenched his fists. He felt a piercing pain from Feng Lin's gaze.

”Does it really have nothing to do with you?” Upon facing Feng Lin's rejection, the long-robed man wasn't dispirited. On the contrary, he was smiling instead. ”Do you really believe the words of the Giant Pharmaceutical Company? That the humans used in human experimentations are all death convicts? Let me tell you the truth, the majority of those humans are people from the Mars Revolutionary Army. They had never committed any crimes that earned them the death penalty. Although members of our Mars Revolutionary Army are all over mars, we are still too weak and inconsequential when compared to the Solar System Coalition Government. The Coalition Government fears us and announced that we are rebels. We are given the death sentence once we were caught. They are in cahoots with the Giant Pharmaceutical Company and use the members they captured from us in the human experimentations…”

Upon speaking until here, he clenched his fist and there was a malevolent look on his face. Hatred could be seen etched there, and this didn't seem to be false.

Feng Lin silently listened. He didn't expect to hear that there was such a truth!

In that case, the human experimentations of the Giant Pharmaceutical Company were truly not simple indeed.
