”Hiroto, right now there will be someone using forensic devices to scan the crime scene for clues, so it's better if you wait outside, now that your house is in this state we have already arranged a place for you to live.... there will be protection a.s.signed to you there before this crime case is closed. We will take care of your otou and okaa' -san's bodies.”
”No need for that, Hiroto will stay with me, my mansion is big plus my housemaid knows self-defense, it'll be much better than the place you've arranged.” Yamazaki glanced at Sakurai-taichou whilst exiting the house.
”Alright then, since your friend said so, then you'll go ahead and live at his place.” Sakurai-taichou shrugged.
I nodded, following Yamazaki out of the house.
”Yamazaki, why do you treat me so well?” Confused, I questioned him, as I didn't understand why he would go that far to even insist that I live with him.
”Because we are childhood friends, d.a.m.n it. When I was young, everyone thought I was fat and disgusting and stay clear of me, but only you stuck through with me every day. From then onwards, I've always treat you as my best friend, and now that you're in trouble, of course I must help ya.”
”Thanks, Yamazaki.”
”Come on, let's go home.”
”Mm.”
En route home, Yamazaki kept recounting the fun things we did since childhood in an attempt to cheer me up, and when we walked towards the park, we saw Miwa-san, holding a bento, sitting on a bench, alone.
”Miwa-san, what are you doing here?” I confusedly asked.
”Ahh, Hiroto you finally came, I waited a whole night for you, the bento probably became cold for quite some time already, but you kept your promise and finally came here.”
”Huh, you made this bento for me, and waited an entire night here? ? ? ? ? ? ? Miwa-san, you......... didn't catch a cold, did you.”
”No, no..... Hiroto started to care for me, eheheheheh.... Aahh I'm so happy, Hiroto is so gentle~ ~” Looking at Miwa-san who started to submerge in her own thoughts whilst muttering inaudible words, I became speechless.
”Ahh! I became too excited, please Hiroto, eat this bento that I prepared for you, ahh.... I forgot that the food had already became cold.... sorry Hiroto, during this waiting period, the bento had already became cold, Hiroto can come over to my house to eat a freshly cooked bento then.” Miwa upon realizing her bento was indeed cold after such a long period of time, pleaded with me to go to her house to eat another.
”Nah, not going, I'm kind of sad today.”
”Eehh, Hiroto what happened, why are you sad, is it because you aren't feeling well?”
”I.........”
”Hiroto's house was robbed, tou and kaa- san were killed, and his nee-san is probably kidnapped, thats why Hiroto is feeling sad.” Realizing that it may be hard for me to talk about it, Yamazaki stepped up and explained. I flashed him a grateful smile before bowing down my head in silence.
”That's excellent news! Now that Hiroto doesn't have a tou and kaa-san any more he can live at my house now.......urk, I mean, it's really a pity that this happened.” Miwa suddenly became ecstatic with joy, before realizing she said something wrong then changing her sentence midway weakly.
”Hiroto is gong to live with me, seeing his condition now, i don't think he will be going to school tomorrow. Miwa-san, could you help me to tell sensei that me and Hiroto won't be going to school, being Hiroto's friend, I plan to bring him out tomorrow to cheer him up.”
”Sure thing, but can you bring me along as well, seeing Hiroto so pitiful.... I also want to help him.” Miwa secretly peeked at Hiroto's side face whilst saying so pitifully.
Yamazaki seeing that Hiroto still remains in a silent daze, had no choice but to help Hiroto agree with it. Noticing that Hiroto had no intention of moving at all, Miwa and Yamazaki stayed, accompanying Hiroto, sitting quietly by the park benches, whilst looking at the large maple tree in the middle of the park.
