101 The Finals (1/2)

Initially, Minhyun had decided to give up. Not because he didn't have the money, but due to the girl beside of him. During the countdown, he wasn't going to say a word. He realized that he needed to calm down and place this girl above all his current selfishness. By being so caught up in his opponent, he was ignoring the reason to why he was fighting in the first place.

His priorities had become twisted as time pa.s.sed. In the end, nothing mattered if the girl beside of him wasn't content.

Upon seeing that Minhyun was refraining himself from raising another bid, Yoona's heart warmed up. He was sacrificing his pride for her. Out of all people, she knew how hard this choice was. Minhyun had ambitions and one of them was beating Jaemin.

She bit her lip. But why did she feel so bad?

As the sound of Wendy counting down entered her ears, her heart suddenly changed. There had to be something done. Although Minhyun didn't explicitly say it, his image was important just like any other person. If he were to lose against the Moon family, although his company was bigger, people may think that he wasn't as impressive as they thought.

That would be terrible.

Therefore, she gently nudged him and told him to bid once more. This would be their last time.

Minhyun raised an eyebrow after feeling her urge him to bid again. But without questioning her motives, he did exactly what was asked.

Now why did Yoona do this?

She had a plan in her mind. She couldn't be only relying on Minhyun for revenge. After some quick thinking, a smart strategy appeared in her mind. All she needed was for Jaemin to bid after them.

It was a 50/50 shot but by winning the auction, they'd follow the original plan anyways. Either outcome was satisfying for their revenge.

The moment 'forty million' rang in his ears, Jaemin lost control of all his surrounding. He couldn't believe it. Minhyun increased it by a larger increment, symbolizing his mockery.

He was being looked down upon.

Something within him cracked. The anger built up from the moment Yoona left his grasps to now was going to overflow.

Who did this b.a.s.t.a.r.d think he was? Despite the other family members swearing and grabbing Jaemin's arms down to stop him from bidding again, he couldn't help but raise the sign. The anger was blocking his body and his true desires acted upon themselves.

He. Needed. To. Win.

He was the best. n.o.body should be able to beat him.

All the girls fell for him. The company was going to be his. Due to his high IQ, he was one of the top students at school. Everything ALWAYS went his way. G.o.d had never told him no.

This auction was going to end the same. He wasn't going to lose for the first time today.

Jaeun began to shake and fell to the floor. Watching her brother go crazy brought back memories of the past. Events that she didn't want to remember.

It's happening again.
