80 New Technology (1/2)

Since today was originally a welcoming party, Minhyun didn't want to linger on the serious topic any longer. He quickly s.h.i.+fted the conversation to a lighter subject. After all, today was supposed to be a happy event.

Minhyun pointed to the ceiling. ”The smart system is interesting isn't she? She's a new prototype our technology subsidiary has been working on. She's going to be available in the market this year after we finish our marketing campaign.”

Yoona widened her eyes. ”Oh yeah! I was really surprised when I heard the voice when I opened the door. Teach me how to use it!”

Minhyun was excited to show her one of his latest accomplishments.

”Gloria,” Minhyun began. ”Play the top song on the current charts.”

”Yes sir.”

A familiar pop-based tune began to play through the speakers. The sound of female voices echoing around the house.

Yoona gasped excitedly before bopping her head to the rhythm. The feel-good song instantly lifted up her mood. ”That's so cool. I feel like i'm in 2040.”

”Isn't she great? We're almost finis.h.i.+ng the final tests and now are working on the marketing aspect. Either way it's going to be before our time. Much more efficient than the other smart homes in many ways.”

While listening to Minhyun speak about the prototype, Yoona couldn't help but feel quite... Small. Here she was, an average university student trying to get through life, yet Minhyun was in charge of a ma.s.sive company making amazing projects like Gloria. Even though she was a business student and Minhyun had offered her a project management job for the future, she still felt like she wasn't doing much.

Minhyun was extraordinary for an average person so she knew not to compare herself to him, but as a human, she couldn't help but make these comparisons.

”What else can she do?” Yoona asked while leaning forward.

”Watch this.” Minhyun stood up and began to walk to the kitchen. Then he took a gla.s.s cup from the cupboards and placed the cup under water component of the refrigerator.

”Gloria fill gla.s.s with half a cup of water and open the refrigerator.”

Just like how he instructed, the refrigerator did it's magic. When he came back, the gla.s.s was half full and in his other hand was a smoothie. ”Want some?”

”Yes please!”

He carefully threw the smoothie bottle to her direction. Yoona thankfully caught it without any problems in her hands before opening the lid to take a sip. Strawberry and banana. Her favorite.

”Well,” she began. ”Quite impressive... But isn't it sort of useless? n.o.body is that lazy to not be able to open a door or press a b.u.t.ton.”
