All four enemy Ascendant Immortals had the same appearance. Due to the visors covering their faces, there was no way to determine their facial details. However, the words that came out from their mouths caused Patriarch Heavenly Enigma and Ascendant Immortal Profound Truth's hearts to turn chill. They knew then that they had fallen into a trap.

“Just who are you fellows? Divine Wilderness Temple does not possess this level of power!” Patriarch Heavenly Enigma attempted to buy time.

The four opposing Ascendant Immortals, on the other hand, were in no rush to attack. It seemed as though they wanted to wait for the East Dragon Island Alliance's reinforcements to come.

“You are correct! Divine Wilderness Temple does not possess such power. Truth be told, since a hundred years ago, we had taken over this Divine Wilderness Temple,” one of the opposing Ascendant Immortals said.

“The way I see it, you fellows are in control of more than just this Divine Wilderness Temple. Are you fellows from the Immortal Plane?” Ascendant Immortal Profound Truth asked.

“There is no need for you fellows to know about this. All right, it is almost time. Your reinforcements have arrived, but no matter how many come, they will meet the same end as you two.”

Of the four opposing Ascendant Immortals, only two stepped forward while the other two watched. When the fight began, Patriarch Heavenly Enigma and Ascendant Immortal Profound Truth immediately fell into a disadvantageous position.

They were utterly no match for their opponents. Worse, even though their opponents could easily defeat them, they chose not to unleash killer moves. Rather, it would appear that they were toying with them, like a cat toying with a mouse.

After exchanging blows with them, however, Patriarch Heavenly Enigma and Ascendant Immortal Profound Truth were able to determine that their opponents were native cultivators of Eternal World. They could sense the aura of Eternal World from their opponents.

Which force in Eternal World could possess such power? Could it be Heavenly Firmaments Palace? But it doesn't feel like it.

On the other side, reinforcements had indeed arrived. Additionally, it was quite a sizable number of reinforcements. There were at least 100,000 cultivators there, with tens of Earthen Immortals and hundreds of Human Immortals amongst their ranks. There were also two Ascendant Immortals secretly following this force. They were none other than Patriarch Carefree and Patriarch Heavenly Yang.

Their force was originally moving forward to attack another sect. Inadvertently, though, the two Ascendant Immortals for this force noticed something amiss with the force sent to the Divine Wilderness Temple. Due to that, Patriarch Carefree attempted to contact Patriarch Heavenly Enigma only to receive no response.

Furthermore, they also did not find any signs of battle. All those factors immediately alarmed them that something had gone wrong.

Unlike Patriarch Heavenly Enigma and Ascendant Immortal Profound Truth, Patriarch Carefree was a more cautious person. Thus, on his way to the Divine Wilderness Temple, he had also sent news of this to East Dragon Island.

By the time Chen Feng received the news, Patriarch Carefree, Patriarch Heavenly Yang and the 100,000 cultivators under them had also fallen prey to the magic array and all forms of communication with them were cut off.

Heavenly Premier Boltfiend and Patriarch Martial Sky were sent together with the third wave of reinforcements. The two of them were already mid-level Ascendant Immortals. They were not the kind of characters that would normally be dispatched out. In total, the East Dragon Island Alliance had dispatched six Ascendant Immortals for this. In the end, however, even the two of them ended up besieged by several Ascendant Immortals. Although they were still able to make contact with the East Dragon Island Alliance, breaking free was still a very difficult matter. More, Heavenly Premier Boltfiend had also sustained serious injuries.

“How could something like this happen?” Chen Feng was surprised.

“Even if there are some hidden sects or families, they should not be this strong.”

Heavenly Premier Absolute and the others who came after hearing the news were surprised as well. Six Ascendant Immortals had fallen into dire straits. It was something that only Heavenly Firmaments Palace should be able to do. And yet, judging by the information they had received, it did not appear to be the work of Heavenly Firmaments Palace.

“Eternal and I will go check it out. You should stay behind to keep watch over East Dragon Island. If this is Heavenly Firmaments Palace's trick, they might make use of this opportunity to launch a sneak attack on us,” Heavenly Premier Absolute said.

Chen Feng shook his head. “I also want to go check it out. More, I need to call up Senior Bi Qing as well. I get the feeling that there is something amiss. Given how big our alliance is right now, someone actually dares to offend us. This party must be prepared.”

After making up his mind, they swiftly set off. In Chen Feng's opinion, given how many Ascendant Immortals there were in East Dragon Island, it should have no issues dealing with any attacks from Heavenly Firmaments Palace.

They then met up with Bi Qing. Grouping up, the four of them moved quickly and it did not take long before they reached the Divine Wilderness Temple.

“Divine Wilderness Temple's power should not be strong. According to the information we have on it, it should only have one Ascendant Immortal. I do not know how this could have happened,” Heavenly Premier Absolute said.

“I am curious. Why did it use that name?” Chen Feng was actually feeling puzzled about the name Divine Wilderness Temple. It was something that could easily be interpreted as a Divine artifact or the building of some religious order.

“I'm not sure about that either. In the beginning, I had a.s.sumed that this is an ancient, secret sect. However, I have no memory of such a force.”

“If it is really a Divine artifact, this will be quite the situation. Still, we will find out soon enough,” Bi Qing said, waving his hand to send a beam of sword light forward. The s.p.a.ce before them were sliced open and they made their way into another dimension.

Four Ascendant Immortals were in the midst of besieging Patriarch Martial Sky and Heavenly Premier Boltfiend. Patriarch Martial Sky was in a somewhat decent state, but Heavenly Premier Boltfiend was already on the verge of dying. At the very least, it would seem to Chen Feng that just one extra joss stick's worth of time would have been enough for the opposing Ascendant Immortals to destroy Heavenly Premier Boltfiend's soul, obliterating him utterly from this world.

“Strange, those fellows are specifically besieging Boltfiend. Three are attacking Boltfiend while one is attacking Martial Sky. What is going on?” Heavenly Premier Absolute and Heavenly Premier Eternal exchanged glances, feeling puzzled at what they saw.

Chen Feng did not say anything. He quickly displayed all his might. The Longevity Wings on his back shook and he promptly arrived beside Heavenly Premier Boltfiend. Grabbing Heavenly Premier Boltfiend, Chen Feng then swiftly backed away.

Chen Feng had taken action with an extreme level of speed just to rescue Heavenly Premier Boltfiend, not to fight the opposing Ascendant Immortals.

“I'll protect you fellows!” Wielding the Absolute Staff, Heavenly Premier Absolute charged forward. Heavenly Premier Eternal was right behind him, the Azure Dragon Blade in hand.
