78 Chapter 77: Confession (1/2)

Lucy took both him and Lori into a place that was empty. It was some sort of restaurant that was closed. She happened to have it's keys. It had many tables on the first floor arranged in a neat way, with a restroom on the side and the kitchen in front of the tables.

It was not styled in a very spectacular way, however each table and chair was made with a high cla.s.s material and the decoration was top cla.s.s too.

He didn't think that all this was needed considering that her confession would be quick, but he let her feel relaxed the way she wanted. If it was up to him, he would just choose an empty alleyway. But once he thought about it, he found out that that will be inconsiderate.

He chose a table and then went to sit there, but not before waving his hands as a wave of pure mana washed the table and the chair from any dirt.

After Lucy sat opposite him on the table, Ned noticed that Lori didn't join them at the table. But instead went to the second floor.

He raised an eyebrow at that but surmised it as wanting to give Lucy her privacy. Then he turned his eyes to Lucy with a gentle smile on his face.

What he didn't know however was that his master in the sky was paying attention too. She wanted to see for herself how Ned will handle this situation.

Back to Lucy, she was starting to get fl.u.s.tered and anxious so much that she wanted to call Lori back, even if she was the one that asked for her to let her do it alone.

”Okay listen, just speak what you have on mind it is not like we are still kids.” Ned encouraged her with a smile.

She took several deep breaths at that, then started to clam down and organize her thoughts.

”Okay, I will be honest with you. Since the first time you helped me in the forest when we were fighting the demons, I had started to like you. I wanted to speak to you about it then and there, but I couldn't.” She said and closed her eyes immediately after speaking, like it was going to protect her from something.

”Why couldn't you? I mean why couldn't you talk to me about it after the fight?” Ned asked as he was curious for the reason.

He noticed that she opened her eyes after he said that, and she had a look of anxiety on her face. But she took several breaths and calmed herself enough to speak. And Ned wondered if he shouldn't have asked at all.
