41 Chapter 41: You Have Already Lost The War (1/2)

Once Ned reached behind Yulyas and Lucy, he brought out a red potion that was the best that could be found and drank it. It would heal his wounds quickly and dull his pain in the process.

He needed to not feel the pain. After all he still had a fight to finish.

He knew that the demon was not an ordinary rank six. Because his dot on the map was much bigger than Amelia even though they were supposed to be at the same rank.

As for talking with Amelia, he wasn't going to bother with that for now, he just sent a glare her way, but he will make sure to lecture her later.

”You okay Ray? I think you should rest for a bit” Yulyas said. And even Lucy nodded to him, indicating the same.

”I'm fine, and in a while, you'll know that we need every help we can get” he spoke normally but everyone that was near heard him.

Yulyas and Lucy were confused, but Amelia being a rank 6, had felt that the demon wasn't simple. And so agreed with Ned.

”Indeed, he is right” she said and although she had wanted to apologize to Ned, it wasn't the time for that now.

”Haha haha, you human, that is wearing a helmet, you have a good perception.” The demon general laughed and looked at Ned.

But suddenly his laughing face changed into a murderous one as he said.

”You have foiled my plan of killing your naïve general. You had better be ready for the consequences” and when he finished he turned to his original form that was taller reaching past two meters and looked similar to a human only with a red skin and some minor differences.

His ears were pointed like Ned had seen from the elves in his past life, but the demon ears were much shorter. There were some dark red scales under his eyes, and he had a scar on his mouth from both sides.

Ned despite the change and unlike his shocked allies, looked calmly at the demon, ” Your plan? From what I can gather, I think that you are some type of demon race that is able to transform into someone. And you had wanted to kill this narrow minded general of mine and transform into her, right?”

The demon was surprised and wanted to refute but since he thought that they would be dead soon anyway he didn't mind much and said ” Indeed” he wanted to continue to say something but was interrupted by Ned.

”Then the other five that are disguised, are they from your clan, too?” Ned said.

And everyone who heard this gasped, except the demon general who narrowed his eyes at Ned.

”How were you able to identify them? It appears that you human has to die no matter what. And no they are not from my clan just my minions” The demon general said.

But Ned just ignored him and ordered some of his men to kill those five that were disguised, and n.o.body objected as they had seen everything that happened so far.

Amelia had felt angry when both the demon general and Ned had insulted her as naïve and narrow minded, but she knew they were right so she stayed silent.

When Ned said that there were five demons disguised she wanted to stop his order for their deaths as the demon could be saying it on purpose, she at least wanted to wait until she is able to verify it, but she didn't want to do something wrong again.

And indeed as he had said once they injured them, those demons in disguise turned to their original forms, after which they were soon dead after.

The demon general didn't say anything when the demons died, he clearly didn't care about them.

But Ned wanted to get him to be angry, so that he can exploit his openings. As even after the demon went into his original form Ned's instincts were still tingling.
