27 Chapter 27: Explanation (1/2)

Even when he increased the strength of the s.h.i.+eld until mid rank 6 it was destroyed upon contact like a fragile piece of gla.s.s. He guessed that this attack would leave a prepared peak rank 6 injured heavily, and if he was unprepared then only death would greet him.

He didn't see any reason as to why should they continue this fight. But he still wanted a little revenge against Ned for tearing his clothes apart. Therefore he brought out his sword that was sheathed and tied with a cloth preventing it from being unsheathed.

He said ”let's end this fight now okay”

And Ned could swear he felt an evil intent directed at him.

Before he was even able to process a thing he felt his body as heavy as a mountain as the old man was suddenly next to him holding his sword and pointing it at his neck.

And Alaster once again deposited his sword in his s.p.a.ce ring, and tapped his hand on Ned's shoulder to bring him back from his shock. With that one move he could have killed him as easily as swatting a fly.

Ned once he felt the old man's touch on his shoulder turned to look at him with a defeated look on his face, at that moment he had felt completely hopeless. He was at the mercy of someone else.

The very thing he hated and begun training to prevent.

Although he already knew that Alaster can beat him, he didn't think it was this easy. Although he didn't think of himself as an overly prideful person, he was still a bit confident in his strength.

But todays fight had opened his horizons, and he finally knew the saying that there was a sky beyond a sky, was true. There is always someone stronger than you.

The old man seeing Ned looking down, looked at him strangely as he said ”you are a rank four expert, and I'm a rank 8 master, the peak of this world, and your attack still caught me by surprise and teared my clothes apart. But you're still not satisfied? I have cultivated all my life while you probably didn't even cultivate for 10 years, and you can still send an attack on par with a rank 6 expert. I feel like my anger isn't satisfied yet”

Ned once he heard that was at loss before suddenly remembering that he had cultivated for only one year but he was nearing the peak of this world with a fast pace. He finally felt his confidence restore. And heaved a sigh.
