“You run in the morning every day?”

“Yes, yes, that’s right. I’m sorry. I thought you would have liked drinking latte.”

“I still like it.”

Shang Xitong didn’t try to hide it. “But I try not to drink too much of it.”

“Um, can we go to study hall together later?” Su Chen asked nervously because he was worried that he would be stood up after being excited over the date all night.

That wasn’t right either. She didn’t stand him up. She simply broke the promise.

“I don’t think so,” Shang Xitong said calmly. There was a flash of slyness in her eyes. She looked at Su Chen with an impassive look on her face and said, “Let’s wait until I have free time.”

“Huh? That’s it?”

Su Chen was somewhat at a loss for words.

Now that his precious daughter wasn’t around, he really didn’t know how to answer.

“It’s not that I’m not keeping my word, but I really have something important to settle,” Shang Xitong smiled and explained.

“I’ve been in contact with an upperclassman I met before. Recently, I received news that she’s coming back to work at the Hospital. She only told me this morning that she’s flying in today, so I need to pick her up.”

“Oh, so that’s the situation?”

When he heard Shang Xitong’s words, he reflexively said, “Shall I go with you?”

However, he immediately regretted what he said.

He wished he could sew his mouth shut.

Although he had been pining after Shang Xitong, this was only the second time she had ever spoken to him.

Was she thinking about how to reject him?

He understood clearly that he had been too impatient, and that the previous latte incident ruined his reputation.

She agreed?

She saw how astonished Su Chen was by her words.

Shang Xitong wanted to laugh, but she still tried her best to maintain a poker face. However, it was very difficult to hold back her laughter.

“Then I’ll be heading back now.”

Shang Xitong was worried that if she didn’t go back soon, she would start laughing.

“Uh, okay.”

Su Chen replied reflexively.

“At ten thirty, wait at the south gate of the school. We’ll meet you there.”

With that, Shang Xitong left.

However, no one knew that Shang Xitong had deliberately quickened her pace.

She was really worried that she would burst into laughter here.
