Chapter 84: Lu Ping’s self-blame (2/2)
”Professor, I came out to find this cat. It was my friend Hermione's pet. I just saw it running out of the castle. I was worried that it would encounter an accident, so I followed it.”
Ai Wen did not know if Lupin would believe that he was looking for an excuse to look around. Lupin carefully watched Crookshan for a while, revealing a relieved expression.
The two returned to the castle. They had just turned around the corner of the hall and saw Dumbledore and Snape standing outside the auditorium and talking about something.
”The whole castle was checked and no traces were found,” Snape whispered.
”Very good, Severus, I don't really think Black will stay,” Dumbledore said calmly.
”But there is one thing, I have to think about you,” Snape said with a squint. ”In the time of inventorying the castle, we have a teacher who has disappeared. It was the one I told you before.”
”What do you want to say, Severus?”
”I mean, how did Black enter the castle? Do you have any opinions on this, principal?” Snape said.
”Many, Severus, every one is possible.”
”Do you remember our conversation, just before the beginning of the semester?” Snape had a low voice, and he obviously didn't want others to hear the conversation.
”Remember, Severus.” Dumbledore's voice contained a similar warning.
”It seems almost impossible. Black can't enter this school without internal help. Especially the person is still missing. You understand what I mean. I did express my concern. When you accept your life... ”
”I don't believe which one in this castle will help Black come in.” Dumbledore said that his tone clearly indicated that it was mentioned here, so Snape did not answer.
The person suspected by Snape was obviously Lupin, and Ai Wen looked back and saw Lupin’s face calm, as if he had not heard what two people said.
”Severus, I have to go to those dementors,” Dumbledore said. ”I said, we will inform them when we have finished searching.”
”Do they want to help?” Snape said.
”Oh, yes!” said Dumbledore indifferently. ”But I am afraid that as long as I am the principal, I will never allow them to cross the school threshold.”
Ai Wen saw Dumbledore walked over to the hall. When he saw himself and Lupin glimpsed, Snape followed.
”You are eavesdropping on our conversation?” Snape's gaze continually drifted between the two, and finally locked in Lupin with a hateful look.
”Professor, we don't have...”
”Be careful when making up lies, Mason!” Snape turned his attention to Ai Wen. ”I have to remind you first, according to the order of the principal, you should sleep in the auditorium now, not with one of you. People who don’t know go out of the castle and do something sneaky.”
”I...” Avon was speechless, and Snape and Dumbledore were more difficult to deal with. He hurriedly rehearsed himself on the grounds of going out to Crookshan.
”For this stupid cat, Gryffindor buckled very much.” Snape said disgustedly, ”Now go to the auditorium to sleep, where is where you should stay.”
Evan hurried to the auditorium. When he was about to enter, he looked back and saw Dumbledore, Snape, and Lupin still standing there, not knowing what to say.
