Chapter 61
The night was silent.
Moonlight reflected on the floor,
Yan Liang was dressing his wounds.
They were both sitting on the windowsill. As she looked at the wounds in his hand, he looked coldly at the mess in the room.
The moonlight from the window refracted from the scattered glass pieces on the floor and created an illusion of shine in his eyes.
But even that was not enough to bury the deep rooted dullness in his eyes
The heating for the room had been turned on. At least it was not so cold anymore. This man and woman were not looking at each other, but were trying to read each other’s minds as they quietly played their respective roles.
She was soft hearted, he was cold..
No one spoke, the quiet was overwhelming.
Suddenly the silence was broken by the ringing of a cellphone.
It was Jiang Yu Nan’s mobile
The ringing was so loud, Yan Liang’s body was startled and her hands tightened subconsciously.
His wound stung deeply at the abrupt tightening , but his face was calm.
Jiang Yu Nan took out the phone from his pocket and connected the call.
It was so quiet that Yan Liang could hear the person on the other side. It was a very familiar voice, Jiang Shi Jun.
“ It seems you are still alive..good.”
His voice was full of ridicule, but Jiang Yu Nan didn’t even smile, only looked at her. She was wrapping the bandage around his hand. She did not even raise her head at the interruption, as if to deal with his wound was the most important thing for her.
Jiang Shi Jun’s voice continued through the phone, it mirrored her own deepest thoughts, “ With her personality, I wouldn’t put it past her to put a knife under the pillow to kill you directly on the wedding night itself.”
Jiang Yu Nan laughed in answer.
His low laughter reached Jiang Shi Jun.
He seemed to force himself to change the topic , “ My secretary told me a few days ago he had seen you at the hospital. I had forgotten to ask you before, the question is why,” he paused, his tone suddenly my serious , “ Did she really hurt you ?”
Yan Liang’s fingers stiffened momentarily but soon returned to normal. She turned a deaf ear to the conversation and concentrated on her task.
That is why she missed the sudden darkening of Jiang Yu Nan’s eyes at Jiang Shi Jun’s comment.
She never heard his answer
After she had completed the bandage, she intended to deal with the glass pieces when he grabbed her wrist.
She looked back to see Jiang Yu Nan looking at her and she shyly looked back at him
She didn’t know when he had hung up the phone
In his eyes, she could see he was struggling with something
In the dead silence, Yan Liang could read his eyes but could not understand what it meant.
Should she play the role of a wife and express concern over her husband’s health?
It was best to do so without any hesitation; if she wanted to show she cared, it shouldn’t look like…
Jiang Yu Nan then heard her ask with an uncertain tone, “ Why did you go to the hospital ?”
She thought she had asked the question casually enough, but an unprecedented sign of fear flashed in his eyes.
Even if the traces of the panic disappeared immediately, Yan Liang was stunned
She had never , ever seen this man get so alarmed..

She was still stunned when he suddenly reached out and grabbed her wrist again.
Then she heard him say coldly, “Don’t try to learn how I bought the hearts of people. You will never learn.”
She was concerned about his health and that angered him ?
Yan Liang did not get any time to think of this problem, he suddenly stood up and pushed her body against the wall. He pressed his body tightly against hers and raised her chin. Looking at his eyes for a moment, he concluded, “ In your eyes I only want to see hatred towards me .”
This was not going well, Yan Liang pushed against him.
Jiang Yu Nan was pushed back a little, but he only smiled. When he looked up , he could see she was already angry. It was probably her reaction to him that made him ruthless, suddenly he took her face in his hands and kissed her hard.
As his lips and teeth continued to attack her, she heard him say faintly, “We haven’t finished what we started..”
Yan Liang reflexively bit his lips and raised her hand to push him away. But this time she could not shake him. She was completely trapped in his arms. When he pulled the zipper of her skirt down and slid her dress off her shoulders, she scratched at his hand insistently probing her.
“ Let me go,” she was almost screaming
In the scuffle, the bandage in his hand was again soaked with blood. But this was not enough to stop Jiang Yu Nan. She was firmly pressed against the wall, with one hand he pinned her wrists to the wall as he kissed her neck and shoulders.
She struggled desperately but could not move him an inch.
Even though the heating had kicked in, with her bare back against the wall, she could feel the chill seeping in. His lips were burning her, her heart was racing, his hand had long since moved away from her abdomen to her thighs.
Suddenly , Yan Liang , with no sound at all, stopped resisting him.
Like a hunter who enjoyed his hunt only if the prey was struggling, Jiang Yu Nan also stopped his fierce attack when he received no response from her.
