Donis spent that entire evening practicing [Air Pulse] and ended up getting it to level 2. At level 1 it got a proper damage stat, which then enabled it to actually use the element that it's named after. Donis initially thought the skill was just called as such because it travelled through the air, but it turns out it uses Air Charged Mana.

-[Air Pulse]-

[Novice]

[Damage: 15]

[Cost: 12MP]

[Level 2/30][45% EXP]

Using this skill took a second or so to accumulate the correct mana type, which was quick, but it made Donis think.

'What if I use my [Mana Charging] to store Air Charged Mana?'

Following that train of thought, he emptied his extra mana bar by casting his [Geyser Body], which he found out to be the best expenditure. It also helped him train it and get used to casting it if he ever found himself in a pinch seeing how it's his only shield type ability.

After charging his extra mana bar with air type mana, he could immediately use [Air Pulse] with zero delay. This actually made Donis ecstatic as he now figured out a way how to cast instantly, albeit with some preparation.

Even though Donis wanted to continue experimenting, the night eventually came to an end. There were two people who were still awake even though the rest of the house was asleep.

”Sweetie, what do you think of Donis's rapid progression?” asked Morissa taking a seat beside Korrin in his study.

”I'm not sure. It's tremendous to say the least. He's been outside practicing some sort of magic attack at some unsuspecting logs. Sure, it's not that strong just yet, but the boy is barely past the age of 10. I've never heard of anything like this before,” said Korrin with his chin resting on his fists.

”I know you've been an adventurer all of your life Korrin, but the boy is a mage by nature. He's bound to create miracles you've never seen before. Also, he's part of the Magisterium of Vernaic, they're the top Academy in the kingdom! Even the royal family send their kids here, so we're bound to be awed by our little boy,” gently reassured Morissa.

”Hmm. You're right sweetness,” said Korrin gently caressing her hand resting on his arm. ”Maybe I'm just thinking too much about the nobles out there taking advantage of our boy. That event.. I still can't shake the image of Sir Corvig, and Sir Norris coming in here to tell us about it... I know not all nobles are filled with bad intent, but I'm still weary.”

”Listen, it's going to be okay sweetie, don't think too much about it all right now. The event shook all of us, but we cannot let it stunt his growth. He has the same look in his eye as you do when you're hard at work, you know? That ever present fervour, that manic look when you finish a piece. You two really are the same already,” laughed Morissa.

”I so do not have a manic look, it's pride I tell you, pride!”

The evening died down with the two eventually bringing themselves to bed, the tension in Korrin dying down ever so slightly. Parents never truly stop worrying though, that's certain.

At the Academy, the next day.

Donis had went through the routine of the morning, keeping his pleasantries with Adel to a short greeting, as the young boy would chat the ear off of Donis. It didn't particularly irritate him, but whatever incessant babble a 10 year old could come up with, Donis didn't care.

His midday break was as luxurious as it could be, but to him luxuries mean nothing. Sure eating at a near solid gold table with floating paintings surrounding him is nice, but it didn't bring him any knowledge of the magic working in the room. It seems the bricks of the building itself are what casting the spells, so they must be stored or prepared somewhere else in the Academy.
