2 2 Mental Exploration (2/2)
-It is the Current Understanding of the Mana Around you. A Further Explanation is not Available as the [User] Hasn't Read or Heard Anything About This. Upgrading the [System] Will Gain the Explanation of Many More Effects That the [User] Has No Access to.-
'Of course, back to the upgrading of the system. Everything ties back to you doesn't it?' Donis mentally piped up.
-Yes.-
Donis not knowing if the [System] is actually sentient or just programmed to mess with him, decided to move on and have a look at his [Users Skills/Abilities] status window. It wasn't empty, like he thought it would be.
-[Hated by Death]-
-[Loved by Creativity]-
-[Inspect]-
-[Internal Storage]-
'System, is it possible for you to open these abilities so I can read what they do? And if you can, can you make it into a drop down menu so I can access it without asking you?'
-Yes.-
The menu before his eyes began to slowly shift and make space, and a drop down button appearing underneath each and every ability and skill. Donis looking happy, began reading each and every ability in detail. What the [System] had given him was no joke, it was far beyond anything he could imagine to get for free.
Hated By Death: Half the Life of the [User], but triple the power of any attempt of physical activity, ability or spell.
Loved by Creativity: Perfect clarity when imagining, remembering and recreating anything after achieving the [Breath] Mana State.
Inspect: Can be used to understand any and all items with a minor description and usage. Any ability once seen/felt can also be inspected when close enough. Can be upgraded with the [System].
Internal Storage: A pocket dimension for storing non-living items. No size restriction. Items will be frozen in animation until taken out. Can be upgraded with the [System].
All of these gifts felt like they were given by god himself. They sounded too good to be true. 'An infinite storage dimension? Inspect? Perfect memory? I don't even care about the halved life, having another chance at a life is already a blessing,' he screamed internally. He noticed that there was another status window that had appeared beside the other four. It was [Inventory]. Donis quickly opened that one, but his excited face lost a little of its light. It was utterly empty. He quickly brushed the disappointment away as he couldn't possibly get more for free, this would already be broken if it was a game back on Earth.
[User Quests] was the next one on the list to explore. Donis couldn't help but wonder if the [System] had already given him a quest or was that even how it worked. Maybe he had to go a Guild, or maybe they recorded when people asked them to do things. Donis wasn't sure but the only way to find out would be to actually use it.
[Main Quest: Reach the Age of 5. Reward: The [Wisp] Mana State.]
'The [Wisp] Mana State is the one before the [Breath] Mana State of my Loved by Creativity thingy, and it also changes my Mana State.. I think... uhhh.. all this thinking is really working my baby-noggin. I need to slow down a bit..' Needing a break Donis was looking for any other physical outlet in which he could use to distract himself. Alas he was still tied up in that gray wrap. Noticing Donis was struggling in the baby cot on the opposite side of the room, Morissa placed her hand on the corner of the bed trying to stabilize herself. Slowly bringing herself up to walk over to Donis, she began feeling a bit woozy. Accepting she couldn't do this by herself yet, as both the pain and the nausea was too great, she called over the nearest nurse.
”Miss, could you please help me out here, I see my baby boy over there struggling to get back to me,” exhaled Morissa. The nurse quickly walked over to Donis and gently picked him up, noticing that he had a bit of heft to him, she said ”ooh, he's a heavy one, he's going to grow up big and strong like his daddy” making her way to Morissa. She could only smile at that thought. Her first baby boy, it would be Korrins pride and joy. Korrins been wanting a boy to inherit the farm for a long time, but Morissa kept giving him only girls. Donis would bring happiness to them both whether he knew the full reason or not.
”Yes he will,” continued Morissa. ”He's my little miracle, and we're going to show you all our love. I just hope Korrin makes it here soon and sees our little boy, he was supposed to be here already,” said Morissa. ”I'm sure that it was because of last night's weather, there were probably trees knocked over in the storm, no need to worry Miss Laurent,” said the nurse, pulling up the blanket over the mother and child pair. ”I hope so,” said Morissa, fixing Donis to her breast and looking out the window with a hint of worry beginning to sprout on her face.
Donis being happy he gets to be fed, didn't realise just how hungry he was. He was content with just letting everything go for now, and acting his age for once. Not that he was here for long. He almost laughed at his own mental joke, making himself choke on his mothers breast. Morissa was pulled out of her mental prison and began cooing the babe once more, humming something softly and rubbing his tiny back. Donis began slowly drifting to sleep. This was nothing like being thrown into forced mental hibernation, it was actually pleasant, and of his own will.
Donis knew he had one more status window to check out, but he had done enough mental gallivanting and needed a break. He was a baby, this is probably going to be his only vacation in this brand new world of Magic, Systems, Magic Systems, fighting and who knows what else. Almost as if using an excuse already, he noted 'and I have a developing baby brain, no need to seriously overwork it just yet.'

Korrin is stuck in a small town right before the clinic where his beautiful wife has probably already given birth. He knew he was screwed, but hoped that the local Priscillia flowers he bought would be enough. He knew that the golden hue they gave off was her favourite, but he wasn't sure if it'd be enough to stave off the anger of a tired mother.
He swallowed deeply and paid the florist 3 Erizi. It was expensive, but for her anything was worth it. Korrins unyielding love wasn't the strangest thing in his little village, but it was definitely yearned for by the local bored wives. Their husbands ignoring them and looking for younger women in taverns was a common sight in the fishing village of Vorinar. Their marriage wasn't perfect, but it was real.
Korrin made his way up to the nearest carriage driver, making note of the smell before even getting near him. It reeked of alcohol, and of course it was cheap to boot. He found the man slumped over by the wheel of the carriage holding a nondescript brown bottle of what looked like local mushroom wine. Kicking his leg made no difference to the passed out driver, so Korrin picked him up and sat him down properly before trying to address him again.
”Erazar to driver, hello? You still alive?” waved Korrin to the drivers face. Slowly, the drunk man's eyes opened trying to get the sting of the sun out of them. He saw Korrin and without even bothering to answer him, proceeded to pass out once more. Korrin swore loudly and threw him back down. He paced quickly back into the little tavern where he was staying, cursing the day mushroom wine was made. ”Don't worry, he'll sober up by the time the roads dry up a little bit, he's always like this, at least he opened his eyes this time haha!” shouted the barmaid jovially. Korrin not amused by the answer walked upstairs back into his room still grumbling about why there even was a wine made from mushrooms.
