As the elder spoke, he bestowed two small bottles and a jade tablet upon Fang Han. Afterwards, he waved Fang Han down.

“Many thanks for Long senior sister for leading the way.”

After accepting his rewards, Fang Han turned to the yellow clothes lady beside him and expressed his grat.i.tude.

“You don’t need to thank me. The inner court disciple a.s.sessment is different from the outer court disciple a.s.sessment. Every year, tens of thousands of disciples receive the qualification to take the a.s.sessment, but only a few hundred are truly able to pa.s.s it. However, since you are able to kill a ‘Shura’, then pa.s.sing the inner court disciple a.s.sessment shouldn’t be very difficult. The lady in yellow faintly smiled.

He pondered for an entire afternoon, all the way to night time. Fang Han felt as if his spirit was full, his body filled with confidence. He had reaped huge rewards from his experiences. He flipped open “The World”, looking for the part which explained the ‘Heavenly Devil Arena’s a.s.sessment.

“The World” was an encyclopedia which one obtained upon entering the school. It contained no basic cultivation methods, but was still very useful. It allowed disciples to learn about the world’s geography, the school’s rules, and it also clearly, with great detail, explained the various a.s.sessments.

The ‘Heavenly Devil Arena’ is a pa.s.sage that was opened by the Yu’hua School headmaster through immeasurable ‘Divine Realm’ powers. It linked the school to the void. Within the ‘Heavenly Devil Arena’, numerous numbers of ‘Heavenly Devil’s roamed around. It was extremely dangerous. Even if a disciple had great wisdom, perseverance, and achievements, upon entering the ‘Heavenly Devil Arena’, they still had to overcome the ‘Heavenly Devils’ bewildering effects. Only then could they rise to a higher level and become an inner court disciple.

So the ‘Heavenly Devil Arena’ is surprisingly this kind of place. Within the universe, there are heavenly, underground, and humanoid devils, three kinds. I have met humanoid and underground devils, but have still yet to encounter a heavenly devil. Legend has it that ‘Heavenly Devil’s don’t have an actual body, but are just a stream of flowing qi and thoughts. They bewilder cultivators. Only extremely high level ‘Heavenly Devils’ are able to form an actual body, and become a Devil King! Devil G.o.d!

[TL: So I just realized from this bit that I translated them as Sky Devils in a previous chapter, I think Heavenly Devil sounds better and it has more of a contrast. Comment thoughts below if you have any]

Fang Han calmly pondered to himself.

‘Heavenly Devils’ were rather different from ‘Underground Devils’. An ordinary ‘Heavenly Devil’ was but a wisp of thoughts. A slightly higher level one was just a wisp of qi flow, similar to ghost and apparitions. Only very high level ‘Heavenly Devils’ were able to materialize their strong Devilish thoughts into the embodiment of a ‘Devil King’.
