Chapter 24.1 (1/2)

Volume 3 – When he bravely forged ahead on the sea waves

Chapter III The rude and arrogant mermaid princess

If you do not have wings, then, only your corpse has the right to drift over the sea – an ancient commandment of the Sea race circulating in the world since ancient times.

“Beamon, huh?” The mermaid stopped singing. Her beautiful blue eyes stared at Liu Zhenhan as she asked: “Were you the one singing that song just now?

The mermaid asked slowly in a common language of Qiu Mainland Mermaid. Her frank approach was reminiscent of that of an old friend meeting after several years, though sounded a bit persuasive with an uncertain fantastic flavor.

“Yes, I was.” Liu Zhenhan tightened his grip on the bamboo spear and replied in an equally straightforward manner. At this moment, several dark figures suddenly emerged from the sea behind the mermaid, like a patrolling team. Under the soft illumination of luminous pearl, their figures were clearly exposed in front of Liu Zhenhan’s eyes.

Each one of them was brawny, about two meters tall, had spindle-shaped head and smooth muscular body. They were clad in clothes st.i.tched from seaweed. There were long fishbone spears in their hands, with some having fork-shaped ones, as their desire to kill was evident from their cold and arrogant facial expressions.

Each of them was riding a magnificent tiger shark, gently cleaving the waves and floating freely in the water. The saddles were made of corals and the overall scene seemed kind of grim under the beautiful night sky. Those tiger sharks were maliciously staring at the meager remnants of the bamboo raft while there was a sort of hunger in their eyes.

Hailun’s hand was shaking violently in the palm of Liu Zhenhan. She tried to conceal her fear but all her efforts were in vain.

“It is the Bulin clan of magical shark warriors.” Hailun whispered in his ears gently. Her present facial expression reminded him of the nights when she used to see nightmares and wake up covered in cold sweat. She was unable to bear the chills that were evident from her trembling voice.

The mermaid gently fiddled the harp and asked: “Why have you ventured into the seas? Don’t you know the rules of sea race? No terrestrial creatures are allowed to violate our seas without permission.”

“Oh beautiful and n.o.ble Mermaid Princess, we are just two poor beastman souls wandering in this bitter sea and trying to survive. We have experienced a lot of sufferings in the past few days and now just want to return home as soon as possible. We certainly wouldn’t dare to have any intention of challenging the dignified sea race. We just want to go back home, that’s all.” Hailun went for an aristocratic bowing to show respect to the royal mermaid clan of the sea race.

“Beautiful and young fox lady, I see that you belong to the n.o.ble fox clan of Beamon Kingdom.” The mermaid princess smiled as two bundles of her golden hair gently brushed her bosom, revealing two perfectly round twins……

Liu Zhenhan’s eyes immediately opened wide, an instinctive reaction on his part. Indeed, very true to his instincts!

“The pigman is also a Beamon sacred sacrifice, right? What a wonderful Beamon battle song he sang just now! It’s been many years but our sea race still hasn’t forgotten the wondrous battle songs of Beamon Kingdom.” The mermaid princess flicked her golden dazzling hair behind and smiled, revealing her front and inducing an equally bright smile on Brother Liu Zhenhan’s face.

“Yes, your highness.” said Hailun with perfect and impeccable n.o.bility prevalent in her stance while answering the mermaid princess’ question.

Liu Zhenhan’s bright smile was immediately replaced by a disappointed one when he saw two small sh.e.l.ls covering the twins on her chest.

“Many years, I cannot seem to recall when I had last heard a battle song!” The mermaid princess said with a sigh: “Can typical pig people actually become sacred sacrifices and hold powerful positions in the Beamon Kingdom? Has the Beamon Kingdom of beastkin become more powerful now, or has completely declined?”

“To be or not to be is the choice of great War-G.o.d Campas. It is not something we mortals can decide, Your Highness.” Hailun slightly bowed and replied respectfully.

“Are you two lovers?” The mermaid princess looked at Liu Zhenhan, asked: “I didn’t know that pig warriors can be as silent a clown fish living in the bottoms of the sea. Why don’t you answer my question, pigman?”

Her eyes appeared both n.o.ble and proud, like those of an eagle overlooking its prey from above.
