”Who?” Ci-ci looked up from the test papers in his hand, looking toward one of his teaching assistants.

A shy teenage boy stood by Dyon's door. He was slightly chubby and had a growing acne problem, but Ci-ci knew that this boy was quite intelligent despite his reserved demeanor and less than appealing looks. If not, he would have never accepted him under his wing.

”A Dr. Rai.” The usually shy boy was quite excited. ”She's quite famous in Grand Province. She built her 'Rai Research and Labs' from scratch without the support of her family!”

”Doctor? MD? Or PhD?” Ci-ci asked.

”Both! She's a neurosurgeon, but she also has a PhD in neurology. She's most interested in what factors decides a person's intelligence and whether or not its possible to make us smarter. Recently, she's been doing a lot of research on sleep. She believes that if we can control the chemicals that help us recover in sleep, it might lead to us releasing some restraints on the brain.”

Ci-ci raised an eyebrow. ”That ridiculous pseudo-science? We use 100% of our brains already, she can't possibly be a true professional if she's peddling that nonsense.”

”No, no. Teach, you misunderstand. Dr. Rai doesn't believe that there are portions of our brain we don't use, but rather that the brain is like a muscle that never goes over a certain limit due to how difficult it would be to recover. She believes that if we can wield certain neurotransmitters related to sleep, the brain would feel less obligated to hold itself back.”

”Hm…” Ci-ci thought for a moment. Suddenly, he laughed. ”Pizza Boy, why are you suddenly so interested in the medical field? You're an engineer. I thought your dream was to become the head Inventor of the Moon Land Base. Since when did you know so much about neurology and their leading experts?”

”Don't call me that Teach! My name is Alex!”

Ci-ci chuckled. ”It's not my fault your face is plastered with those red spots. With today's technology you could have gotten rid of them long ago.”

Alex crossed his arms across his chest, looking defiant. ”Hmph. Today's society is filled with too many too willing to change everything about themselves at the drop of a hat. We became the apex predators of Earth by relying on the natural order of things, focusing our intelligence on petty things such as looks is a waste of what evolution handed to us. You know…”

Ci-ci couldn't help but laugh. This ”shy” Alex became quite talkative when you happened to bring up something he had strong opinions about.

Ci-ci had became so used to Alex's rants that he easily blocked it out as he conducted a quick search on this Dr. Rai character that suddenly wanted to see him. He had only just become a teacher. The fact he was given this position at only 16 years old caused a lot of dissatisfaction, so he didn't have the time to spend on other matters.

”… That's why the perfection of the human race is only a breath away, yet we can't grasp it!”

Ci-ci rolled his eyes. ”You only know about this woman because she's fucking hot, right?”

Alex's next words got caught in his throat, causing him to cough and blush, going back to his normal shy self.

It didn't take much for Ci-ci to see through him. Why else would a young man follow the profession of a woman so closely even when he didn't practice in her field?
