Chapter 295 Canst serve two masters (1/2)

Nico Zhuang turned his head to the back passenger seat to clarify what he saw. The moment he saw the blazing fire within her pair of eyes, Nico Zhuang let out a heavy exhale before repositioning himself and shifted the gear from reverse to drive.

”Yes, Madam.” With that said note, Nico Zhuang proceeded to head forward— entering Ethan Lu's villa. Even without scanning around, he could sense the guards outside following their slow-moving car until it stopped.

Taking his time, Nico Zhuang unbuckled himself and jogged to open the back passenger seat. Although he doesn't normally do this as Lexi would exit the car without anyone's help. However, this time, Lexi remained seated in the back passenger seat and waited for him to open the door for her. Hence, even without any orders received, Nico Zhuang did what he had to do.

Truly, this man surpassed Lyrick Jiang on many different levels as his instincts fully understood Lexi. Perhaps, it was the three months they shared together as classmates and partners that he got the gist of Lexi's mood and her thought process. Regardless, she could also turn unpredictable whenever Ethan Lu was around.

”Thank you,” Slowly, Lexi got out from the car and she cast Nico Zhuang's stoic front a brief glance as she said her thanks. Lexi then shifted her gaze towards the house without scanning the men outside guarding the residence.

The house was surrounded by numerous guards and vehicles parked as if the president of the country came to drop by… one could also be mistaken that there was a silent party going on inside if they didn't know better.

Without a word, Lexi took a step forward. One… two… three… she took many slow strides towards the always bright house she had been living in the past three months. But now, the house was silent, emanating a dreaded aura. A Lion's den. Hell.

In her mind, this was probably the same aura in the main residence of the Lu family as Edward Lu's presence was too strong, filling the whole villa with it. At that crucial moment, Lexi understood at that moment seeing a glimpse of Ethan Lu's determination to cut ties with them as he had to grow up with this kind of atmosphere. Fortunately, he grew up as a nice guy… or maybe not entirely.

Her walk towards the entrance of the villa took longer than it normally does. Still, Lexi's front remained inexpressive as her slow steps never faltered— not even once. Soon, she stopped in front of the main door and without further ado, Lexi calmly entered their humble abode.

Striding a little more, the moment she arrived at the living area, there, an old man wearing an un creased tux with a fedora hat and a cane resting on the side was leisurely sipping his hot cup of tea. Of course, if there are people present outside, there were also a few men standing on the inside; by the looks of it, even their blinks seemed to be calculated.

For some reason, Lexi remained standing in her position and only scanned the whole place without a word. Meanwhile, Nico Zhuang who followed behind her bowed his head without lifting it up when he saw Edward Lu enjoying his cup of tea.
