Chapter 213 What a decesive woman (2/2)

Louis Lu briefly scanned him. In an instant, Louis Lu spotted a small scratch on the side of his neck that was very evident with his fair complexion. Raising his gaze on the displeased Ethan Lu, he responded.

”You had a visitor.”

”Huh?” Knitting his brows, Ethan Lu slightly tilted his head to the side as he didn't expect any visitor. Well, that was also his first thought when he saw his cousin inside his house. ”Why do people keep on dropping by? Don't they sleep?”

Although Ethan Lu hasn't checked the current time, he estimated that it must have been around past midnight because he knew what time he picked Lexi up.

”Who?”

”I don't know, I sent him away.” Louis Lu shrugged his shoulder as he blankly replied.

”Eh?! Then, why are you here?”

”Your assistant also came by. He didn't tell me why but he said to tell you that you needed to pick up his calls— it's important.” Louis Lu then brought out a smartphone and handed it to him.

”Ohh…” Nodding in understanding, Ethan Lu forgot that he gave an order to Lyrick Jiang earlier before he picked up his girlfriend.

”Alright, thanks Lou. Sorry for bothering you.” Smiling, Ethan Lu apologized as he snatched the phone in his cousin's hand. Yet, his apologies didn't affect his cousin as he didn't have any change of expression and only shrugged before he turned his back against him.

When he closed the door, Ethan Lu immediately speed-dialed Lyrick Jiang's contact number because his assistant wouldn't personally drop by if it wasn't important.

Even before the first ring could finish, the call was immediately picked up and the line connected.

”Young Master—!” Ethan Lu put away his phone as the deafening voice of his assistant welcomed him. After a beat when the man on the other end calmed down, Ethan Lu placed his phone again in front of his ear.

”What is it?”

”We received a few reports that five suspicious men were surrounding your house earlier. Fortunately, your guards got a hold of them even before they could infiltrate your villa.”

”Where are they?” Ethan Lu's eyes immediately darkened upon hearing this report. It was the first time that he received such bold news as his family members wouldn't strike this soon. Still, Ethan Lu didn't single out that option.

”Young Master, that's why I called because those men chose to take their own life even before they could be questioned.” With that last remark, a dreaded silence dawned on the line for a good one minute.

”I see… ask our contact in the military if they have records of them.” Ethan Lu responded and cut the line short. Glancing at Lexi's back from his position, his heart suddenly felt uneasy. It was as if his instinct was certain that those people— their intention was not him but her.
