56 Chimeraan Fight Part 2 (1/2)
The knights gasped at the scene, the creature was so powerful, their agitated faces showed a hint of worry but Ezra was calm.
'1200 degrees, interesting, 'Ezra thought.
The knights were backing away now as they lead their steeds further inward of the grove but hey did not dare turn their backs on the Precantae else they would be the next target. They chose to obey the commands because of the analysis and effectivity of his plans.
'It will be hard to target his face now, his main method of attack is his mouth,' thought Ezra.
”Sir Phobos, do you know if Precantae can they cast spells that do not project out of their face? Like [Earth Wall] for example?” Ezra asked as he glanced a cautious Phobos, he wanted to know if the beast could attack from outside its body like humans could. Sweat beads were forming on the side of Phobos head and he was clutching his whip.
”I'm not sure milord, we have not thoroughly checked, but I have not heard of Precantae being able to condense magic out of their bodies, so it is most unlikely,” answered a confused Phobos, he was trying to figure out the toddler's line of thinking.
The beast was now charging at Evan and Ezra because Evan had thrown the javelin. It did not pay attention to Evered at all, in the beast's mind, it was Evan's fault the tree fell on him which made it even more agitated.
”Evered, we are going to change tactics for now let's split up, we'll lure the beast over there next time,” Explained Eza as he pointed toward a location.
”Let's abandon the horse for now Evan I'll run beside you, I will tell you what to do next.”
”Can anyone cast a spell and make a depression on the ground?” Ezra hollered as he was running. The toddler's tiny feet could be heard pitter patting on the ground.
”I need someone to be able to plant spears on the ground and shoot them vertically into the air,” Ezra continued.
”So someone who can use [Sink Hole] or a spell similar?” Rycharde asked as he retreated along with Ezra and Evan. Rycharde was impressed at the speed of Ezra as he could follow along with the swiftness of a knight.
”Yes something like that,” Ezra answered.
”No one among us can do that,” Rycharde answered him with scrunched eyebrows. They were now running along as the beast gave chase.
”Is it possible to modify your [Earth Wall], instead of aiming it upward aim it down?”
”I think it is, but I have never tried it personally though, and never thought to use it in such a way,” Rycharde looked enlightened, he seemed to have an epiphany.
”Okay good, Go over there and set it up, put spears inside the depression. Tell us when you are done,” as Ezra said this he hopped on the back of Evan and told him, ”Let's go.”
The beast was nearing the party and as it charged Rycharde split off, the beast did not mind this, it currently focused its wrath on Evan.
As Evan and Ezra kept running Ezra explained some things to Evan. ”Evan, I don't know the full range of that spell the Precantae is using, so we can only run for now but from the way I see it, the beast tries as much as possible to use physical strength rather than long ranged attacks. If this keeps up it means that it can only use a limited amount of magic.”
Ezra then tried to observe the chasing Precantae. ”Well, that or we are not yet in the range of effectivity of its spell,” he continued.
Evan could only nod, even though he already knew the full extent of Ezra's capabilities, he was still really impressed at the toddler's analytical abilities which made his hair stand on end and his spine tingle.
”I don't know if we should slow down to test things out, it's too dangerous unlike Catalyna this thing really wants to kill me. So far, I can't put much faith the other knights fulfilling the specifications of my command, I've worked with you and I know how precise you can execute my commands. There are some things that I can entrust to you,” related Ezra. He was still observing the beast, they were around 50 meters away from it.
Evan's heart warmed as Ezra said this, he was proud that he could be so dependable in the sight, of this future powerhouse. ”I am glad I could be of service, milord.”
